Airi Lampinen is Associate Professor in Human–Computer Interaction at the Computer and Systems Sciences Department at Stockholm University and a Docent in Social Psychology at the University of Helsinki. She is a founding faculty member of the Stockholm Technology and Interaction Research group and part of Digital Futures Faculty. Her research is focused on interpersonal challenges at the intersections of economic encounters, exchange platforms, and algorithmic systems. Alongside her pioneering research on peer-to-peer exchange and the sharing economy, Lampinen was instrumental in initiating and running the COST Action From Sharing to Caring: Examining Socio-Technical Aspects of the Collaborative Economy where she co-led the working group on collaborative economy practices and communities. Lampinen holds a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Helsinki. In addition to her social scientific training, she holds a BSc (Eng.) from Aalto University’s interdisciplinary Information Networks degree program.
