Battal Doğan holds doctorate (Sakarya University, Turkey) and master’s degree (American University, Egypt) in Middle East Studies. He examines the international relations of Middle Eastern countries within the context of the Global South, and investigates the vertical and horizontal North and South relations, especially through colonial, decolonial and postcolonial theories. The Global South approach offers rich theoretical frameworks for investigating what went/goes wrong between the North and the South.
