Caio Riter nasceu em Porto Alegre, onde vive. Formou-se em Jornalismo e em Letras e é mestre e doutor em Literatura Brasileira pela UFRGS. Publicou seu primeiro livro em 1994 e nos últimos anos tem se destacado como escritor de textos para crianças e jovens, tendo recebido importantes prêmios por sua produção: Prêmio Açorianos na categoria juvenil em 2004 e 2006; 1º Prêmio Barco a Vapor em 2005; Catálogo de Bolonha em 2007 e 2008; Prêmio White Ravens – Alemanha – 2007; Acervo Básico FNLIJ 2008; Selo Altamente Recomendável FNLIJ 2007 e 2009; Prêmio Açorianos na categoria infantil em 2009. ------- Caio Riter was born in Porto Alegre, where he lives. He graduated in Journalism and in Literature and is a master and doctor in Brazilian Literature by UFRGS. He published his first book in 1994 and in recent years has been a writer of texts for children and young people, receiving important prizes for his production: Açorianos Prize in the youth category in 2004 and 2006; 1st Prize Steam Boat in 2005; Bologna Catalog in 2007 and 2008; White Ravens Award - Germany - 2007; Basic Collection FNLIJ 2008; Seal Highly Recommended FNLIJ 2007 and 2009; Açorianos Prize in the children category in 2009.
