Emilia Machado was born in Brazil, she is the mother of three children and lives in Rio de Janeiro. It was the pleasure of writing that led her to Estação das Letras, where she began the Letrafalante, a Children's Literature study group, with which she has published the book "Da África e sobre a África — textos de cá e de lá" by Cortez Editora publisher. Vinicius Vogel is a Brazilian author and illustrator based in New York City. He has illustrated over 50 books for children and young adults in his native Brazil as well as in the USA, Canada, and France. Winner of the NJ-SCBWI 2013 Conference Juried Art Show for Published Illustrator. His debut picture book as an author and illustrator is The Thing About Yetis, with a sequel in the works.
