Eunice Higuchi, a descendant of Japanese immigrants, had a difficult childhood in the city of São Paulo, where she lived with her mother and five brothers. A hardworking and dedicated student, she managed to pass the medical entrance exam at the University of São Paulo and achieved a successful career, realising her dream of exercising her vocation and helping people through it. When she became depressed, Eunice faced the most difficult battle of her life, which she describes in this book. By telling her story, she hopes to inspire and encourage those who are hopeless, as she once was.
