Faysal Fayez Eliyan is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Community College of Qatar and an industrial expert in oil and gas pipelines construction, operation, maintenance, and corrosion control. He graduated from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. With previous appointments at McMaster University, the American University of Kuwait, and General Electric, he brings a wealth of experience to his field. Eliyan is the recipient of numerous professional awards and is an active member of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). He has authored and co-authored publications on the corrosion of high-strength, low-alloy steels for various oil and gas pipeline flows and conditions. His most recent publication is "Chapter 42: Corrosion of Pipeline Steel" in the ASTM Fuels and Lubricants Handbook, 2nd edition.
