Frank Pedreno (1960), M.D., Ph.D., M.S., is specialized in Biochemistry and Cell & Molecular Biology, Neurobiochemistry, and Evolutionary Genetics. Dr. Pedreno is currently the Scientific Director of Project Darwin-Lamarck, an international project for the exploration of biodiversity. Throughout his professional career he has received numerous awards and recognitions. In 1996 he received the First M. Daria Haust Award from the International Atherosclerosis Society. In 2007 he received two Orphan Drug Designations from the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) as well as the Ciutat de Barcelona Award for Technological Research. In 2017 he was appointed Affiliate Scholar Research Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
