HENRIQUE PRATA is the president of the Hospital of Love, known previously as Barreto's Hospital of Cancer. A true entrepreneur, he is a farmer, an agriculturist, and a rancher, as well as a private and commercial pilot. He gave up his studies very early in life to start working. At fifteen he had already started working in his grandfather's farm. At 33, he embraced the toughest of jobs: managing the Hospital of Love. Without a medical degree, scrubs, or a stethoscope, he pursued what would become his life's mission: curing thousands of cancer patients with free, compassionate, and excellent care. As he managed the hospital and struggled to get funding – collecting donations from businessmen, farmers, artists, and public figures – he managed to transform it into one of the biggest oncology centers on the planet. In 2018, Henrique Prata was paid homage by the Chamber of Deputies with the Medal of Legislative Merit, recognizing his work on behalf of healthcare. His journey is an example of leadership and commitment to turning people's lives for the better, specifically those who fight against cancer. He has three other books published by Editora Gente: Love Above All, Providence and Love Above All – Stories. A man of faith, Henrique Prata has the mission of saving lives, and has traveled to 21 countries to learn the best practices in the world, implementing them at the Hospital of Love.
