Henry 0. Trowbridge, DDS, PhD, is professor of pathology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, active attending in the division of endodontics at the Albert Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia, and visiting lecturer in endodontics at the Navy Dental School, Bethesda, Maryland. Dr Trowbridge maintains a long-standing interest in the field of inflammation. He has lectured extensively and authored numerous articles and book chapters on the subject. His research interests include inflammation of the dental pulp, pulp biology, and nutritional pathology. Robert C. Emling, MS, EdD, is assistant dean of admissions at the University of Pennsyl­vania. He is also president ofYes Group, Inc, which publishes the Journal ef Clinical Dentistry, and is president of RCE, Inc, a consulting firm that conducts clinical trials and prepares reports on new therapeutic agents, products, and processes in oral health care. With his doctorate in education, Dr Emling's specialty is in the professional and adult learner. Over the past 20 years, his main interest has been the development of educational material for dental and medical students.
