Jie Tang, was a former deputy mayor of Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China, and is currently a member of the council of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. He received his B.S, M.S, and Ph.D. degree from Nankai University. His main research fields include Economics of Innovation and Spatial Economics. His papers have been published at China Economic Review, Journal of Cleaner Production, Economic Modelling, etc. Co-authored books include “Hard Truths of the New Era: Guangdong’s Pursuit of HighQuality Development”, “A Study on Sustainable Development Model of Chinese City: Green and low Carbon Practice in Shenzhen”, “Shenzhen Growth: Land and Urban Renewal”, etc.
