JOSÉ EDUARDO COSTA was born in Botucatu, in rural São Paulo, and grew up in the picturesque city of Londrina, in the state of Paraná. He holds a degree in journalism from Londrina State University and majored in economic journalism at Columbia University as part of the Knight-Bagehot Fellowship Sponsorship Program, before going on to study an MBA at Insper University. He is the incumbent executive editor of Exame, a business affairs magazine produced by Editora Abril, where he is responsible for developing new content ideas for the publication. Previously, he worked as a reporter for Veja magazine and as the editorial director of Você S/A and Você RH, also magazines in Editora Abril's portfolio. He loves to travel and spend time with friends. He likes books, movies and sports. He is married to Carol and has two daughters, Clara and Joana.
