Juan V. Mayoral was born in Guadalajara, Spain, in 1971. In 1996, he obtained his BA in Humanities (University of Castilla-La Mancha), which was awarded with the Extraordinary Prize (highest marks, Class of 1996). He specialized in philosophy of science at the graduate school, at the Department of Logic, History and Philosophy of Science, Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED). He pursued his PhD thesis under the supervision of Carlos Solís, a renowned Spanish historian of science and a scholar of Thomas Kuhn’s philosophy. In 2004, he obtained his Doctoral degree from UNED, and received the Extraordinary Prize. After a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Cambridge, he is now associate professor at the Unidad Predepartamental de Filosofía, University of Zaragoza, Spain.
