Luigi Pirandello was an Italian writer and playwright born in Agrigento, Sicily, in 1867 and died in Rome in 1936. His first major success was the novel "The Late Mattia Pascal," written during sleepless nights while caring for his sick wife. In 1925, after his wife's death, he founded the Teatro d'Arte di Roma company, with which he traveled the world, even performing on Broadway with immense success of his comedies.
