Mónica Vírchez Figueroa is a Mexican psychologist who has lived in Madrid since 2005, in addition to having lived in Barcelona, England and Germany. She has experienced various countries and cultures in the company of her triplets, who were born prematurely in a neonatal unit with the help of the NIDCAP Programme, in London, England. She is president of PREMATURA, the national association of parents of premature children in Spain, and has supported mothers in various hospitals in Barcelona and Madrid. She is a member of the parent network within Europe of the European Foundation for the Neonatal Care of Newborns (EFCNI), in conjunction with 30 countries. Monica has always been interested in the mental health of mothers and fathers, as well as the monitoring of premature infants. She currently has a practice, through which she offers guidance and sup- port to parents of multiples and premature babies. She is deeply involved in all areas related to motherhood, parenting, attachment, and bonding.
