Shayne is the founder of Redbud Writers Guild, for which she sits on the board, and is senior editor at the Redbud Post. She is a writer at World Bicycle Relief and is a member of the World Vision Speakers Bureau. She also wrote a monthly column for the magazine Fullfill. With an MA in theology, Shayne is a national guest lecturer on issues of global justice.
