Sophie Falsini, M.A., is currently working as a desk officer in the Political and Security Committe of Austria's Permanent Representation to the EU and she is a member of the Peace and Security Program of the Berlin grassroots think-tank Polis180. She studied languages, international relations and European affairs at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan and European University Viadrina in Frankfurt/Oder as well as in Russia and Estonia. Falsini was a Blue Book Trainee at the Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers at the European Commission in Brussels and worked for the Uzbek-German Forum for Human Rights, Human Rights Watch and as a researcher in the Security, Defence, Space programme of the Italian Institute for International Affairs (Istituto Affari Internazionali, IAI). The author of the foreword Dr. Susann Worschech is a Research Fellow at the Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences of the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt/Oder.
