Terry M. Mays is Emeritus Professor of Political Science at the Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, USA, after retiring in 2023 with 29 years of service to the college. His academic specialty area is multi-national peacekeeping and he has conducted work and published in this field since 1987. Terry's academic work has taken him to numerous peacekeeping centers and peacekeeping operations across North America, the Middle East, and Africa. His previous publications include Africa’s First Peacekeeping Operation: The OAU in Chad, 1981-1982; Nigerian Peacekeeping Policy; The Historical Dictionary of Multinational Peacekeeping, 4th edition; and Ireland’s UN Peacekeeping Policy During the Cold War Era (Palgrave Macmillan).
