Through him, even in your weakest moments you are radiant and strong. Take courage in God’s love for you and walk in confidence as you rely on him to renew and refresh you. As you spend time in his presence, he will fill you with peace and hope.
I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure.
PSALM 16:8-9 NIV
No matter where you are, God is there. While there may be times you ache to hide from him in your shame, he is a constant presence. The beautiful thing about his omnipresence is that you have a steady and consistent companion who is always ready to help in times of trouble.
You have no reason to fear the things that the world may throw your way. You’ve got the best protector of all at your side! Are you asking for his help in times of worry and woe, or are you turning inward to try to solve your problems? Let God be your refuge. Nothing is too big or too small for him. Even in your darkest hours, you can know true joy because he is your guardian.
God, I take my cares and distress and cast them on you. I know that you can handle them for me. I rest secure in you.
“Before you were born I set you apart.”
JEREMIAH 1:5 NIV
Nobody is an accident or an afterthought. The Lord has carefully crafted every person uniquely. He loved each individual before they were even born because he planned in his heart and mind exactly how they were meant to be.
Sometimes you may try to run away from how the Lord created you and from the calling he has placed on your life, but as you search for peace to accept who you are and how you were formed, you can have confidence that the Lord truly knows you. He knew you before the world began to hurt and influence you, and he knows how to restore you as well.
God, thank you for making me special and for setting me apart to do something specific for you. Help me to trust you as I walk in your calling for me.
In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you.
ROMANS 12:6 NLT
What benefit is it if someone gives a child a gift, but that child never opens it or uses it? God has given each person natural abilities, talents, and spiritual gifts. He wants to teach them how to use them and what they are for. With the faith that you have, he asks you to step out in your gifts. In time your faith will grow.
Imagine if the child who received the gift only wanted to play alone. God’s great plans for giving gifts includes serving and encouraging the entire body of believers. He has given each one a special position in his family and the tools needed to play their part well. Your gifts are not for you alone but to be used to help others.
God, give me the faith to step out and use the gifts you have given me. I want to use them to bless others.
You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
1 PETER 2:9 NASB
On occasion, you may need a little nudge for all the pieces of your disposition to fall into alignment with God’s. Today’s nudge is a grand reminder of your identity in the body of Christ. You are a holy priest serving the living God! He is risen, and you are his. Because of this, you walk in his light, and you shepherd others into the light as well.
Sometimes, it is difficult to get rid of the grumpy feelings of the day. It seems okay to have a lower opinion of yourself or your circumstances (and maybe even other people). But the truth is that God’s opinion should be your opinion, and you can shout that in everything you do. Priests carry a message to the people. What message are you carrying today?
God, thank you for choosing me to be a priest for you. Show me how to share the good news of your Son with everyone I interact with.
God has given each person the tools needed to play their part well.
Love each other with genuine affection and take delight in honoring each other.
ROMANS 12:10 NLT
One of the most difficult things to do is to love someone who doesn’t want to be loved. To love those who push you away every time you try to help, those who are difficult, and those who are maybe even a little mean is discouraging, defeating, even costly.
