eleased in early 2018, 12 Rules for Life by Canadian psychologist Dr. Jordan Peterson outlines twelve rules for life. These rules, designed for everyone, pull from the traditional wisdom of ancient times all the way through modern-day advancements—writing, faith, folklore and tradition, science, and personal experience.
Dr. Peterson found himself answering questions on Quora, a community-based question and answer website, and when he answered the question, “What are the most valuable things everyone should know?” he came up with 40 rules of which his latest book, 12 Rules for Life, was born. Although, it was narrowed down to twelve rules instead of forty. In each chapter, Dr. Peterson presents each rule. Each chapter includes an essay that explains, in an easy-to-read format, the rules, which focus on personal responsibility in the modern world. He says he wrote the book, not only “for other people,” but as “a warning” to himself.
