Chapter 1

My Upbringing.

I was born in 1971. With parents who worked with the things that made them happy. My father was an entrepreneur - A landscaper, and my mother worked with her hobby, as a knitting-designer for a large, weekly magazine. So, I have seen firsthand, that people are happiest by following the things they're most passionate about.

I start of my education and graduates, but I have no clue to what my own passion is, until I get a permanent employment within the Ministry of Social Affairs, as a Conference Leader. I maintain this job until the year 2000, where I give birth to my son and I love every day in this department. I'm looking forward to going to work every day and before my son was born, I even had plans to start up as an entrepreneur, with my own independent conference bureau. There, I would be the link between a company and the conference location, maintaining all the practical stuff. But naturally the birth of my beautiful son, blocked this dream.

Life brings us to the United States for a while. My son Christopher spends his 1st year in Philadelphia, where I am a stay at home mom, kissing on him all day long. This is a huge privilege, to be able to spend this precious time with my son, a son that I didn't expect to be able to have. When I got pregnant at the age of 29, there was no doubt in my mind! I was going to be a mom and my plans to be an entrepreneur, got to be put on hold for a little while.

My son becomes my passion and the most important job in life. To have a well-functioning boy, that I can spend so much time with and build up his self-esteem from the beginning.

And with this I must give myself a pad on the shoulder.

Today I have an 18-year-old son, who is a highly, well-functioning man, deeply loved by me and with a healthy self-esteem. He has grown up with a mother who, like her parents, followed her passion - who really felt her own needs about what was right and what was wrong and acted upon it, if it felt wrong!

As we returned home from the United States, I had to find a new passion in life. My dream of working as a conference leader is not really a good match with the single mom status, being alone with Christopher. I refused to work a fulltime job and only seeing my son for a few hours every day, before bedtime.

So, I became an entrepreneur and I got the opportunity to be a part of a Danish clothing company, using network marketing as a way of selling the clothes.

Today I still follow my passion and I found where I'm supposed to be. I am a writer and I had my debut with my book called “Get yourself a job”, which describes, how you need to follow your passion and act upon what feels right and what makes you happy. Acting as a reference book or a Go-To book, when you need a reminder on what tools I have used, to get to the amazing life, that I can call my own to this day!

A life as a writer, a speaker and a team leader in a network marketing company!

You won’t be less happy,

by sharing happiness with others.

Chapter 2

My network marketing career.

The first time I encounter this business is in college. I am attending the business College and my boyfriend at the time who is in the same year as me but not the same class, has a friend called Joergen, who tells me about this opportunity to earn a lot of cash on a health product, which benefits weight loss, among other things.

“You just have to sign up as a distributor and then cash will come flying to you!”

Almost too good to be true. And it was. I found out it wasn’t true, not by a long shot! But I was highly curious and what if this was an opportunity for me. I therefore attended a business meeting where I'm introduced to this very “American way” of selling a product - at least at the time, a very “American way”. The product was good and the opportunity to earn money was huge. Nothing was left out. The amounts you could earn were huge, and they talked about big expensive cars, that you had the opportunity to own, if you just enrolled and started talking to your friends and your family about the product.

And I thought “Sweet - I can do that! Everybody needs this product.” But first I had to like the product myself and being on a diet constantly, I of course started on the product and I did lose the weight. Filled with fibers and vitamins, I felt the positive effects of the product and I believed, that I would have no problem making money by selling it.

I was currently already selling underwear to friends and family through home parties, so I was used to “making money of my friends” and I was also buying from friends if they were selling things I could use!

The product wasn’t approved in Denmark at the time though. A journalist got hold of some information about the product being sold in Denmark without the legal rights to do it, so it didn’t take long before there was a front cover with the company name, on one of the largest newspapers in the country! I realized that I would never be able to fight against the power of the press at this time, I had to let this opportunity go and stop selling it – But I continued as a user of the product for several years.

That was how I became aware of network marketing (also called MLM or Multi-Level Marketing) in the early 1990’s.

Multi stands for Multiple or Many, Level is exactly what it says and Marketing is the explanation of how you would like to “move” the product or service from the company to the consumer.

After this encounter, I did not cross paths with this type of business again, for man years.

It didn’t happen until 2004, after returning from the United States, where I spend my time being a fulltime mother and taking care of my son in Philadelphia.

A former classmate of mine, calls me and tells me of this Danish clothing company, using network marketing as a way of getting their product out and into women’s closets. She explains how customers can buy the products at retail prices or through sellers/distributors. This time the company is new to Denmark and has everything approved within legislations.

This sounds interesting and within days, I meet up with Jane and Kristian – the sweetest couple, who shows up at my own place, with the entire clothing line, to show all the amazing designs! Of course, I have invited a couple of friends and 2 of us make the decision to start up, buying some of the clothes and start working on finding others who would like to be a part of the team too. This opportunity turns out to be the greatest business for the both of us. The concept is brilliant – either the customer becomes a “regular” and can buy the clothes at retail prize without any strings or subscriptions or they can buy the clothes directly from me. Business is booming – All of my contacts from my “underwear-network” get meetings with me in their own homes, and I am selling my A** (my behind) off!

One day in 2007, we receive a phone call. The owner of the company is personally bankrupt and from that day, everything was closed and shut down. This was a huge shock and the ground disappeared under my feet! My entire income-source was gone in one day! So, from this day forward, I decided that network marketing wasn’t for me anymore.

But, in 2010 I was introduced to a new company, selling health products, which was legal in Denmark and the taste of it was incredible. At this point, I have my own shop in one of the larger cities of Denmark, called Roskilde, and I decide to give network marketing one last try.

The results of the products on my own body, are positive – And I already know, that I can sell these types of products within my network, especially when I can use my own story of using the products as a consumer as well.

About a year into selling these products, I end up quitting this company, because of the Danish team I am a part of, starts dictating on how I am supposed to run my business. They dictate, that I MUST call my distributors on a regular basis and pressure them into finding other distributors and consumers constantly. I am not the kind of person who want to push people into anything, and I told the team that I wouldn’t do it. So, I quit the company, after a short while with warnings to those people, because they started pushing MY distributors.

We reach 2013 and my good friend is yet again in business with a great product. A product and a company, that I can become a part of, before they open their market in Denmark. But the time isn’t right for me – I am juggling with so many other things in my life at the time and a kindly pass on the opportunity.

February of 2014 these products and company get approved and legislated in Denmark – And my friend is starting up. I’m sitting on the sideline, watching how much fun she’s having with the products and the company. She continuously mentions to me, that I am more than welcome to join if I am up for it and to be a part of the fun. In May of the same year I give in and join the team and within the first 3 months I reach a position in the company, that only 2% get to reach. Another 3 months after this, I reach a higher position, that only 1% get to reach!

Nobody told me that it would be difficult, and I had such a high energy level and such a strong will to talk to everybody about these products. I have an inner “racehorse” inside me and the bonus’ motivates me tremendously! And this behavior isn’t particularly “Danish of me” – but people are different, and I like the fact that I have a reward in front of me – a recognition when I reach my goal.

I was SO enthusiastic about these products and about the company and everyone could feel it. I build up a team and got everyone that I crossed paths with to join – either as a customer or as a distributor. Everyone felt my energy and enthusiasm and it was contagious – They wanted “a piece of the cake” – Of the energy!

But I was the one with the energy and the enthusiasm – Not the people joining – So my glasshouse shattered.

And I couldn’t upkeep my position in the company.

So, when I was having meetings with potential partners, I couldn’t sit in front of them, in good conscience, telling them how easy it was and how much they could earn – Because I didn’t do that anymore and it wasn’t easy.

At this point I couldn’t feel the energy or the enthusiasm anymore. I have to be able to be 100% connected and committed to both company and products, if I should continue to use my valuable time and effort.

So, I quit this company at the end of 2016.

At the beginning of 2017 I once again get the opportunity to start up a new company and product in Denmark.
