Volume 1 - Oh dear, oh dear, the plastic has to go
Bella sits on the colorful flower meadow with a view of the castle of the ant queen Katharina I.
Suddenly, Bella's mouth curls into a smile.
Her eyes widen as her ears pick up familiar sounds.
Bella hears the rustle of a dress and the sound of soft but ever louder footsteps. Her heart leaps for joy.
It's her friend, Queen Katharina I, approaching.
A ray of light appears and with it the queen.
Bella bows to her queen and hands her the biggest and juiciest leaf she could find on the way.
The Queen has also brought Bella a colorful bouquet of flowers.
The two like each other - yes, they are friends.
After a warm embrace, Katharina I places the fragrant leaf on the meadow floor and invites Bella to take a seat on it. Lying on their backs, they enjoy the blue sky.
Birds greet them with cheerful twittering. The leaves on the trees dance in the dappled light.
"Good morning, my dear!"
The queen has just discovered Klingeling, the wise owl, on the highest branch of the fir tree and waves at her.
"Good morning Your Majesty, how are you, what's the latest news from your kingdom?"
"I have nothing new to report. As always, Bella's colleagues are hard at work. They are already carrying little sticks, larvae and fresh, tiny leaves into the anthill to feed my children."
"Yes, you have to take good care of children," Bella interjects.
"I'll come to you, I'll keep you company."
The owl Klingeling is just in the right mood for a little chat.
As soon as he lands, Klingeling starts chatting.
"You worker ants don't just look after the little ones with your hard-working hands and legs, but also with your hearts."
Bella nods in agreement: "Little children need us, and we need them."
All three nod in agreement.
"They need good, healthy food to grow big and strong."
"I love good food."
"Me too."
"I like to cook."
"If I don't like a meal, I go in search of new worms, bugs, butterflies, grasses, flowers and small pieces of wood that might taste even better and be healthier."
"Too bad," Bella interjects, by chance or on purpose, "our forest stinks of rotten food."
"No wonder, there are torn bin bags, empty yogurt pots and cola bottles, scraps of plastic, leftover fish, meat and bread lying all over the forest floor.
