Natalie works in an escape room, but the endgame is not to escape, it's to save her. She's the damsel in distress, the innocent, beautiful human princess eagerly awaiting her rescuer.
Or in this case, her rescuers. She tugs the shackles on her wrists and ankles, pulling at it fearfully as the men--the Werewolf Alphas, step into the room with her.

"I've already decided on which quest to be on. What tier do you think I should be getting, with you waiting at the end?" he asks.
She blushes brilliantly. Oh. That's why the book's still here. They normally don't ask her these things. "Um..." she swallows the lump in her throat and tilts her head down, interlinking her fingers in her lap. "Whichever you feel like?" she says, her voice rising a pitch from sheet embarrassment.
"You're a very open-minded for an eighteen-year-old virgin," he comments. "Says here you are willing to give everything a try."
She licks her lips and nods jerkily.
"Has anyone gotten to you yet?"
She shakes her head. "I haven't- I've only started recently. I haven't even gotten rescued yet." And then her cheeks burn red when she basically admitted that she hasn't even been touched by anyone.
He looks pleased by the answer. "I suppose that means I should get the full package," he winks at her and then takes mercy on her when she opens her mouth and instead of answering properly, lets out a meek squeak instead. His teeth glows when he grins. "Adorable," he says.
The man guarding the door chuckles and she turns to him with a look of betrayal. He shrugs and tilts his head to their client, reminding her who she should be paying attention to here.
"I was recommended to your establishment as a place to relax and unwind. I've never gone on a 'quest' before," he admits. "I'm afraid I'm a city wolf, born and bred here with no sense of adventure," he says.
"It looks really fun," she says, grateful for a neutral topic. She starts talking to him about the games, memorized speeches, mostly about how he would enjoy it, and even if he decided this particular path wasn't for him, there are others.
This is a particularly hard one, which is why the manager has her there. The likelihood of someone finishing the quest in the first time trying it is slim to none. In the meantime, she is free to talk to the men, the participants and grow more familiar with them, get used to the idea that once they 'save' her, they can do whatever they want with her.
"It says here that more than ninety percent of the participants are unable to finish it within the first try," he comments, frowning at the logistics with an air of someone who's keen on testing that.
"Ninety nine for the quest I'm in," she says before she can properly stop her lips from moving. She hates herself sometimes. She actually lost a customer this way. The man straight up gave up when he realized he would have to pay again in order to 'play' with her.
He has a steely look on his face that tells her that he's taking the statistic very seriously, but instead of giving up, he's turning it into a challenge to overcome, something to fight for.
Her eyes widen in fear.
"We'll see about that, then," he says and his voice is a low growl, a deep challenge.

The pictures of the intricate and beautifully designed rooms are not what entice the men into coming for their adventures.
Escape room is just a front. If you know the right questions to ask and is prepared to pay enough, they can experience something different altogether.
Natalie thinks it sounds like a gimmick and nobody's interested in real life adventures anymore, not with so many online games available. And that's before she learned that it costs a whopping $2,499 per person per game for the basic package, with the price increasing exponentially with the reward. The first tier is just a grateful princess and a hand job or blowjob. Second tier is penetrative sex. Third tier includes a list of kinks that is allowed and so on.
When she first arrived at her new place of employment, they gave her a tour of the grounds and she suddenly understands why the games start from $2,499 per person per game, with team members getting a reduced rate. The giant stone castle is surrounded by a hedge maze that is beautifully maintained and though there are several ways to exit it, there is only one path that leads directly to the main gate. There are game items that would make it easier for the participant to make it past the other challenges.
Some doors lead to dead ends that requires fighting actors who would inevitably lose while others may lead to shortcuts, ropes that would allow participants to skip 'levels' as long as they have enough upper body strength to do so.
There are doors that opens with locks that can be found in other rooms and some that can be broken down entirely. Riddles and traps are hidden everywhere around the castle grounds and actors and actresses playing their roles, speaking in tongues and just generally doing a good job of confusing the players while also leading them down the right path. It's not just medieval things too. Technology has made it possible for them to have experiences that transcend that. They have holograms and rooms that looks bigger than they are. There is a large hall that looks and smells like an entire forest, where a young woman who's part elf plays a role that, if the players answer the questions in the right ways, would earn him her trust and companionship for a few floors.
Depending on which path the players take, everyone's experiences is different and that means they have a lot of return players. They have hundreds of five-star reviews on their websites and a few one-stars from players who don't quite make it to the top floor at the end of their time limit. They have a day to finish it and are free to continue their quest on a subsequent visit, but the wait list is long.
They have players who return year after year, people who come alone and those who come with friends.
The exhilaration of the game makes them stay and the escapism of the entire scenario makes them come back over and over again. When they step foot onto the castle grounds, who they are no longer matters. Here, they are knights and princes, or in some cases, princesses. If a player doesn't reach the end of the game by the time the game ends, then they will make another appointment to come again.
The Game Master have been tweaking the game, making it so that multiple players can participate at once, though they have different rules and paths to take, obviously. Different princesses to rescue at the end.
At least until they are replaced by Virtual Reality games. Then again, most wolves do prefer them because they rely so much on their olfactory senses to be immersed in the game.
She has only started this job for a few days and already, she is bored of it. She plays the role of the princess and her presence isn't really required most days. Some players are capable of reaching the end point just hours after starting while others may take a few tries.
The manager had grinned at her when she came in that night and she's a little bit enthusiastic about finally getting her first heroic rescue. This was a top-tier payer, apparently, which means she is going to have to be prepared for anything. She wishes she had started with low-tier members first, but she can't complain. She's being paid $200 per session to show up, and an additional $500 if she is 'rescued'. It's a lucrative job, one that promises absolute silence.
She's basically a prostitute the customers have to work for on top of what they've already paid. She wonders what her savior tonight is going to be like.
Natalie tries not to think about the things she can't change and it's only too easy to let her thought wander as she stands in the corner of the dungeon, wrists and ankles chained to a platform that is slightly tilted so she isn't putting too much weight on her wrists. Humans like herself are so fragile.
The least favorite part of her job is all the waiting and it has been all waiting ever since she got this job in the first place. There's nothing to occupy her mind with except for the open window and the branch that sways ominously in the dark, occasionally letting the light from the full moon shine in. She finds herself enjoying the view wistfully, wishing she could be outside. Her peers are all out partying and she's tied up, quite literally, in a dungeon. Well, technically not a dungeon since she's not underground, but it could be one if not for the window that tells her she's up high. She's not on the top floor, though. That would be too easy for Werewolves and wizards who think they can trick the game by climbing to the top floor from the outside.
The way the game is designed, she can only be found if they go through the proper paths. Thankfully, she is only called up here when the challengers reach a certain part of their quest, so she doesn't have to be here all day long.
They have other princesses, but she's the newest one, so she ends up with shifts that the others would rather avoid and one of the least favorite times of the month is during the full moon, where their client is almost exclusively Werewolves and they are rather foul-tempered and rough, even after working through most of their aggression in the other 'levels'.
She's wearing a white garb that clings to her body lightly, barely giving her the warmth she needs. The material is so thin that a gust of wind from outside is enough to make her nipples pebble. Her hiring manager says it's to give the game a sense of realism. There are other princess roles, princesses who dress to the nines and feign sleep in luxurious beds and princesses who pretend to be in the middle of a meal. And then there's her, who's chained up and uncomfortable for the duration of her entire work.
There's a movement in the window, disrupting her from her pity party, but it's just the branch getting blown in. There are security cameras set up throughout the area, but in discreet locations. There's one pointed at her too and it shifts minutely, letting her know that someone is in the security room and checking things through.
"Doing alright, Natalie?" a disembodied voice whispers.
She almost jumps out of her bones in surprise, but she recognize the voice a moment later and rolls her eyes. "You know you shouldn't be using the mic except for emergencies," she chides, remembering him from orientation. It was a long orientation, but at least they were paid for it. He's new too and mans one of the rooms where he's supposed to give them a riddle to solve, and then hand the participants the Master Key. It's a really satisfying part of the game because they won't need to search everywhere for matching keys anymore.
"Yeah," he chuckles, "but I'm so bored. The guy go past me a few minutes ago."
Well, if he got past Drake, then it wouldn't take him long to be here. She tells him as much.
"Yeah," he sound a little sheepish. "But I'm supposed to warn you first, so you won't be taken too much by surprise," he says.
"Oh." That makes sense. "So, how was it?" she asks, too curious and bored to care about the rules.
"Very strong," he says.
"I thought you were just supposed to give him a puzzle?" she asks. Her wrists and ankles ache from being chained up for so long and she wishes she could get herself free, but the keys to her locks are with the player now, the Master Key.
"Oh yeah," he continues. "But he was really winded up and the other guys says it'll make it easier on you if we fought him to burn some of that energy off first. We didn't even have to pretend to lose. The guy's really strong," he repeats. "I know we're like, supposed to lose to them, but we were hoping to keep him there for at least ten minutes? Guy got through us in like, two minutes."
She doesn't know how impressive that is. "How long does it normally take?" she asks.
