Did You Know?
Edmund Kemper was initially a warm and sensitive boy. However, his father forced Edmund to watch him butcher chickens in their backyard. It would later cause Edmund to lose his sensitivity as he grew numb to all the killing.

Edmund Emil Kemper III was born on December 18, 1948, in Burbank, California. As the only son, he was the middle child of three children. His two sisters were Susan Hughey Kemper (1943-2014) and Allyn Lee Kemper (1951).
His father was Edmund Emil Kemper Jr. (1919-1985). A World War II veteran, he tested nuclear weapons in the Pacific Proving Grounds. After the United States government conducted Operation Crossroads in 1946, Edmund Jr. returned to California, where he worked as an electrician.
His mother was Clarnell Elizabeth Stage (1921-1973). She would always complain about his menial job. In return, Edmund Jr. would whine about her. He would state that his suicide missions during the war and his atomic testings in the Pacific were nothing compared to living with her because she would engage him to more than three hundred sixty-five days and nights of non-stop fighting.
