I dedicate this book to anyone who deals with their problems behind closed doors. You try to maintain that "perfect version of you," but the reality is far from it.
These pages are for those people who are living in a mess and don’t know how to get out.
Let me tell you; life doesn’t have to be negative. Make a change. Create another happier ending. You can confront all that is holding you down. I advise you to go back to that moment when tragedy struck, and you stopped believing that the world is good.
Life is not about accepting the mediocre. I challenge you to seek further, to ask questions, and to live with hope. I can lead you to the One who does know how to help! Talk to God as soon as you can before the darkness plans to overtake you.
Don’t let anything - your fears, your past, your doubt, or your unbelief - stop you from being radiant!

I feel honored to have been asked to write the Foreword for Sunshine’s latest book! She is the epitome of ‘sunshine,’ with a truly joyful heart that brings a smile to your face. I am blessed to know Sunshine and her husband since we all worked together in Television News. In a world that can be dark and frankly scary at times, we need more people like Sunshine to bring light into each day. She finds a way to bring that light and joy to many lives through her writing!
Sunshine and I met working at the CBS affiliate News Station WVLT-TV in Knoxville, Tennessee. I’m a Meteorologist and have worked in Television News for more than a decade. I know the latest news headlines can sometimes be all about the darkness in this world. There are a lot of bad things that happen every day, but I personally think we cannot focus only on that darkness, but instead, how we can all bring more joy to others. Through career opportunities, through relationships and friendships, we can all work to brighten someone’s day. Being the light and an encouragement to everyone around us helps to cut down that darkness inside others and hopefully inspire and encourage them. Think about how a few words can change your mood ... for the good or the bad.
My other full-time job is a mother. My husband and I have a son and a daughter, and they’re the light of my life! You’re often told that you’ll never know how much you can love another person until you have a child, and now I get that. Children are a blessing from God, and truly embracing that love is a whole new experience. Cherishing and supporting that precious gift from God is the most important job I could ever have.
I tell my children, “I love you” repeatedly every day, and recently my son asked why I say that so much. I told him that, unfortunately, not everyone hears those words as often as they should. I share this because many of us who interact with young children or teenagers don’t always know what they’re going through. Thanks to my job, I’m able to visit with local students regularly, so I use that opportunity to encourage and support their hopes and dreams. I see that many of these young people are looking for guidance, and most of us have an opportunity to be an example of kindness.
