It is critical to identify your talents as you grow from birth to adolescence before becoming an adult. Many abilities go unknown for years, only to be found at a later date. This is heartbreaking. The majorities of today’s youth are unconcerned with their capabilities and make little attempt to uncover their God-given abilities. It's a sad state of affairs to arrive in this world without having fulfilled your God-given purpose. God has placed particular talents in every one of us; your talent is not the same as mine. Your parents will not be able to uncover your skills for you; you are the only one who can do so.

The goal of this book is to assist you in identifying your talents as quickly as possible. All you have to do now is find out what your talents are. This is a no-nonsense book that doesn't waste your time with irrelevant material; it gets right to the point.

chapter 1: Recognize and Utilize Your Skills

Recognize and Utilize Your Skills

Identifying your strengths and shortcomings is the first step in discovering your talent.

In this instance, you'll have to ignore your flaws and concentrate on your strengths. Many people have different types of strengths; however it is important to pursue your own strengths rather than copying other people. For example, if you are a gorgeous lady with good structure, height, and other attributes, one of your areas of strength could be modeling. Never imitate your friend's strength of wanting to be a doctor. Many people will criticize and discourage you from following your strength during the process of determining it, but it is up to you to make the decision to pursue your strength. Once you've identified your strength, you'll need to do some study on how others have excelled in that area so that you can do the same.

But how can we figure out what our strengths are and how to apply them once we've gotten away from those flashing screens of identity-makers? With these ten simple techniques, you can identify your talents and begin using them right away:

Take a self-assessment of your life: Do you think these tests are one-size-fits-all? Reconsider your position.

Taking the Life Assessment is a good way to figure out your life potential. This evaluation will help you understand how you do in various parts of life and discover which areas of your life demand more of your focus. Personality tests are also an objective technique to figure out what makes you tick.  You may start recognizing your strengths and shortcomings more clearly in everyday life after you know which group you fit into. Use this to your advantage by bringing your newly discovered abilities to a job interview, first date, or any other high-stakes situation.

Figure out what makes you feel powerful: Have you ever had one of those days where everything feels effortless and light? You're confident that you know the solution or that you can find it? It's generally our inner talent scout speaking up when we're lured to a sense of ease. Recognize when you're at your best and give yourself more chances to feel that way. If you have a natural affinity for children, ask if you can volunteer at an after-school program or babysit for a friend in need. Allow your skills to guide your timetable.

Figure out where you spend the most money: When it comes to what we want, we frequently put our money where our mouth is. Using simple and free applications like Mint to review your accounts is a terrific way to see where your money is going. You find what you value when you follow the green, and chances are you have a flair for it. Use your athleticism as a sign if you go over your year spending and realize that your biggest expense is that group fitness class you enjoy. Enroll in a road race, take a new class, or simply commit to a healthy lifestyle.

Have a conversation with your friends about your finest and worst attributes: You can count on them to be brutally honest. However, the benefit of polling a small group of close friends about your qualities is that they almost always agree. It's eye-opening to learn that various individuals perceive you in the same light, and this is a sure sign of skill. Make use of your friends' perspectives to improve what you'd like to do. Do you have a caring side but are also a little chatty? Slow down, breathe, and offer people the right of conversational way with your compassion. Use your inherent abilities to strengthen the aspects of your M.O. that could use some improvement.

Inquire about your childhood interests with your family: People who have known us the longest may not always be the greatest people to know us. Ask your family what you used to do when you were a youngster; perhaps you always played alone, with friends, made up stories, wrote, drew, acted out scenes, played baseball, or read books. These are probably things you still enjoy today, but as we evolve into responsible, mature, and serious adults, we tend to forget about them. Take these memories as a cue to come back to playing. Follow your sense of play to see how much of your childhood you can replicate in maturity. Using your talents for recreation allows your brain to relax and play, allowing you to be more productive in all areas of your life.

Keep track of your thoughts in a diary: Every morning, write down your thoughts on a few pages and then walk away from them for the rest of the day. Identifying your talents through stream of consciousness writing can be quite beneficial. After a week, go back and reread your pages. You'll notice that a lot of your ideas come back to one basic point. This is frequently due to a skill or a desire. Look for hidden answers in your writing. What exactly are you missing out on? What are your desires? What opportunities would you like to see materialize? Then, using your notebook, make a list of your strengths and opportunities to develop new goals linked with those strengths.

Be on the lookout for talent in others: Being inspired by other people's abilities might sometimes make us recognize what we're capable of. If you're a writer and you read something that really resonates with you, try to pinpoint exactly what it was that lit you up. If you're jealous of someone else's talent (don't worry, we all do it), you can utilize that to your advantage as well. Request that this individual mentor you, give you advice, or simply have a cup of coffee with you. Reaching out and recognizing others' abilities will lead to new opportunities and relationships while also assisting you in defining your own.
