GETTING ON TRACK ON YOUR BOOK

Anyone having a story to tell can write a book, whether for their own pleasure or to publish for everyone to see and buy. If you see yourself continuously weaving creative narratives inside your head, writing a book can be for you. Starting may look daunting at first, but once you begin, it will be hard to stop.

Buy a notebook. You can beautify it later. While you may or may not intend to type your novel straight into a computer, it's not always probable to be near one as at when inspiration strikes. Thus, it's most excellent to have good old-fashioned pencil together with paper no matter where you are. In addition, many writers swear by connection from mind to hand to pen on paper, so at any rate give it a go before throwing away this as an option to help your writing experience.

A heavy card or leather-bound notebook is the sturdiest and can take lot of abuse in a backpack or briefcase, whereas a spiral bound notebook, despite not as robust, is quite easy to keep open. Better still, should you make a decision the page you just wrote is absolute garbage—it's easy to rip out!

Bound or spiral, consider using standard lined paper versus graph paper. You may end up creating drawings and sketches as you go, and it's helpful for indenting outlining or paragraphs,.

Wear your thinking cap. Now that you are with your notebook, it's time to squash the conventional bugaboo of all writers: the empty first page. Use those initial pages to write out thoughts for stories. Or, write things you are zealous about. Once you feel you have written down sufficient ideas, read over them twice. Then, take your thoughts to someone else to obtain feedback. Decide which idea to really go with and make sure it does not sound like something recently published. Then, wait for a few days, read over the idea again to be very sure, and proceed onto the next step.

Create the summary of your story. Add an outline, notes concerning characters (such as possible descriptions, names, backstories, etc.), places and all little things that go into the larger story. There are numerous advantages to this summary approach, including:

It will give you brand new ideas for your story as you express different parts of it (write those down!)

Nothing moves to waste. You may portray a character, for example, who never appears in the real story directly but who affect another character.

Set up a chart or table. Use it to put down all of the characters that have special meanings in the story. Use your notebook to write lots about them.—Even produce a backstory for some of them. This helps you think about and visualize them more and even study about your own character more.

You always have something to go back to when you run out of instantaneous ideas.
