Many found it horrifying to hear that the invading alien race had taken to gathering women in open areas and allowing them a chance to run rather than being probed and thoroughly used. I, on the other hand, met this news with a certain sense of relief. After all, as a former high school track star, I would be ahead of the game should the unthinkable ever happened to me. At least, that’s what I thought until it did.
The night came when I found myself plucked from my bed and standing in a large field in a group of fifteen or so wide-eyed women. Grass tickled my bare feet beneath the hem of my sheer white nightie, and a deceptively soothing breeze ruffled my long hair. The chill raised goose bumps and tightened my nipples. We were far enough from the city that a massive carpet of stars were pasted to the midnight blue sky, a scene that would have been breathtaking were it not for the rising fear and muffled sobs around me.
