Spring begins on the twenty-first of March and lasts until the twenty-first of June. Spring is very nice and beautiful. The flowers grow. Trees and fields are covered with vegetables and birds sing on them. All men, women and children are happy.
La primavera inizia il ventunesimo di marzo e dura fino al ventuno giugno. La primavera è molto bella e bella. I fiori crescono Alberi e campi sono coperti di verdure e gli uccelli cantano in loro. Tutti gli uomini, donne e bambini sono felici.
Sometimes it is cold in April and still in May. Sometimes, but not often, there is snow and ice in April, and then many flowers and plants die.
A volte fa freddo ad aprile e ancora a maggio. A volte, ma non spesso, ad aprile ci sono neve e ghiaccio e poi molti fiori e piante muoiono.
02 - THE SUMMER | L'ESTATE
We have talked about winter and spring. There are two other seasons that are called summer and autumn. The summer lasts from June 21 until September 21. It's very hot in the summer. Beautiful flowers are everywhere. Grains abound on the fields and the trees are full of fruit.
Abbiamo parlato di inverno e primavera. Ci sono altre due stagioni che si chiamano estate e autunno. L'estate dura dal 21 giugno al 21 settembre. In estate fa molto caldo. I bei fiori sono dappertutto. I cereali abbondano nei campi e gli alberi sono pieni di frutti.
At the beginning of summer, the days are longer and the nights are shorter. Then the days become smaller and the nights longer.
All'inizio dell'estate le giornate sono più lunghe e le notti più brevi. Poi i giorni diventano piccoli e le notti lunghe .
03 - THE AUTUMN | L'AUTUNNO
In the fall fruits such as apples, pears, peaches and plums are picked. The peasants harvest wheat, corn, oats and potatoes. In the autumn wine is made.
Nella caduta vengono raccolti frutti come mele, pere, pesche e prugne. I contadini raccolgono grano, mais, avena e patate. In autunno viene prodotto il vino delle uve.
After the harvest, the trees lose their leaves. First the leaves turn brown, yellow, red or purple and then fall to the ground. The flowers and vegetation sleep during the winter.
Dopo la raccolta gli alberi perdono le foglie. Prima le foglie diventano marroni, gialle, rosse o viola e poi cadono a terra. I fiori e la vegetazione dormono durante l'inverno.
04 - THE WINTER | L'INVERNO
Winter is the cold season. In the winter the days are very short and the nights are very long. When it is very cold the water freezes and snow falls. In the torrid zone there is no ice or snow, and it is always hot. In temperate zones there is no ice or snow except in the winter. In the glacial areas there is ice and snow during all seasons.
L'inverno è la stagione fredda. In inverno le giornate sono molto brevi e le notti sono molto lunghe. Quando fa molto freddo l'acqua si congela e la neve cade. Nella zona torrida non c'è ghiaccio o neve, ed è sempre caldo. Nelle zone temperate non c'è ghiaccio o neve tranne in inverno. Nelle zone glaciali c'è ghiaccio e neve durante tutte le stagioni.
The boys are happy when it freezes and the snow falls. Then they skate in the rivers and in the frozen lakes. They make snowballs and throw them at each other and play war. They also make snowmen. When the snow has fallen the boys bring their sleds on the snow.
I ragazzi sono felici quando gela e cade la neve. Poi pattinano nei fiumi e nei laghi ghiacciati. Fanno palle di neve e li gettano l'un l'altro e giocano in guerra. Fanno anche immagini di neve. Quando la neve è caduta i ragazzi portano le loro slitte sulla neve.
When it thaws and the snow disappears, the children are very sad because they can not skate or play with snowballs anymore. But the poor are very happy, because during the winter it is too cold for them. In the spring they are not cold. The winter lasts from the twenty-first of December to the twenty-first of March.
