To Jasmine, Johnathyn, Makayla, Devin, Rain, Pat, Christin and all family and friends of the Mowery family who have stood by Alyssa during this difficult time. She needs you now more than ever.
To this day, My Crazy Pet Frog remains my personal favorite. Is it the Super Frog costume? Or that he's trying to do too many things at one time? I think everyone can identify with our favorite frog on some level, and it would be a pity if the story ended here.
Perhaps that frog really is a secret agent…
Secret Agent Disco Dancer, that is.
Ah! It's a good thing you mentioned it. Or I mentioned it. Or we all mentioned it. (It's easy to get confused after writing code all day and frying my brain like an egg.)
Secret Agent Disco Dancer is the next installment in the series, and will feature an assortment of crazy, new characters, none crazier than our uber hero frog. Originally I had intended to add a preview of it here to coincide with a major promotion, but alas, I ran out of time.
The truth is, I've been writing a highly complicated computer program to render e-books so that I can devote more time to writing and create new books. The program is called the Halcyon Rendering Engine and now manages ten of my e-books. My Crazy Pet Frog is the first children's book to be rendered with this software, and once I add bonus content functionality, I'll add the preview and expand this Author's Note.
But all is not lost. A preview is available in My Little Pet Dragon, which you can read for free if you have Kindle Unlimited. But if you don't mind waiting, join my mailing list and I'll let you know once it's up as well as give you a few cool freebies.
In the meantime, development will continue on Secret Agent Disco Dancer and the Halcyon Rendering Engine. I want to create a rich, memorable experience, so please be patient. It's coming, but it's taking a little longer than expected. You won't be disappointed, though. I promise you!
Of course, the fun doesn't stop there. Our favorite frog will appear in a slew of other books in the not-so-distant future. Hang on to your hat, because you're in for a wild ride!
Oh yes, and one last thing. One of the comments I've received is that My Crazy Pet Frog has a dark undertone and that the story is really about a father abandoning his family. I can see how one might arrive at this conclusion, but I assure you, that's not the case. All will be explained in Secret Agent Disco Dancer, but I will let you in on a secret...
Hmm…
How much should I tell you?
Do you really want me to spoil the surprise?
Ok, I'll just say this. If you watch plenty of spy films, you'll become aware of strange gadgets and useful potions that cause "memory wipes." It wouldn't be out of the question for such a potion to be used on our hapless hero…
All right. That's it! I've said enough.
If you want to know more, you're going to have to read Secret Agent Disco Dancer. I will not divulge anymore secrets. (Besides, he's on a Top Secret mission, right? I don't want to accidentally blow his cover.)
Not only will Secret Agent Disco Dancer see more action, his son Laike will have his own adventure as well.
Oops!
Hey, how did you get that out of me? Perhaps I've gotten too close to that truth serum I've been writing about.
And one last thing...
Back when I was a child, multiple path books were popular. Once such line, called Choose Your Own Adventure, let the reader choose the path the hero would take, for better or worse. With the dawn of e-books, something like this would be very easy to do and quite effective.
But everybody can do easy.
What if such a story had hundreds of paths? Dozens of endings?
