His Womanizing Ways

Mark was born to parents who were wealthy investors. Their investments were mostly in the United States and Europe. Mark was their only child, and they spoiled him. He attended one of the most prestigious boarding schools in England where he earned his master’s degree in Business. After college, he returned to the states to be closer to his parents and to seek employment in New York City. He was hired as a financial advisor for a major corporation and received a 6-figure salary with a huge bonus at the end of the year. Mark lived rent-free at one of his parent’s properties, helping him save a great deal of money. Living in New York was expensive. Smart with his money, and making a lot of it, Mark was well off financially.

He drove expensive cars, dressed in custom-made suits, took extravagant weekend get-away, and loved to spend his money wining and dining women. Mark led a carefree life. He loved the women, and they loved him; they loved the attention he gave them spending thousands of dollars to impress them.

One day, Mark received news that his parents had been injured in a car accident. He immediately turned to his best friend Marcy for comfort and she joined him on his daily visits to the hospital. They had known each other for years. Marcy knew Mark’s parents and had spent time with them in their younger years. He thought, what a good and faithful friend. She is not like those other women. All they want from me is my money. After a visit to the hospital one evening, he invited her to his home. They watched television, played video games, reminisced about old times and talked about life. Mark asked Marcy to stay the night. Shocked by his request, she laughed and said, “Are you kidding me?”

“No, I am not kidding, I love your company.” He said. “You are genuine, kind and a true friend. I am falling in love with you. This all became clear to me these past few weeks. You have been my rock as I’ve struggled emotionally with my parents’ accident and their healing. You’ve been with me every day for months. It’s a surprise to me too, but true.”

“Falling in love with me?” Blushing, she bowed her head, hesitated, and then she responded, “I think I feel the same way too. I found myself falling in love with you but was afraid to tell you. I didn’t want to lose our friendship. We have had some very deep and intense conversations lately, and I like getting to know you.”

“I know you have morals; not having sex before marriage. Don’t worry, I will not do anything to disrespect you.”

“Alright, I will spend the night, but no intimacy.”

Mark made a full breakfast, sausages, and eggs on toast, freshly cut oranges, and coffee.

When she came into the kitchen, she said, “What a surprise! Be careful – I could get accustomed to this treatment.”

Their relationship blossomed very quickly as they spent nearly every moment they could together, It seemed a match made in heaven. One evening after a romantic dinner he knelt down on one knee and professed his love to her and said, “Marcy, will you marry me?”
