In a faraway land lived three friends, Princess Bella, Princess Nala, and Prince Edward. These three were inseparable. They had the most unique features. Princess Nala had the longest golden hair. Princess Bella had the most beautiful singing voice, and Prince Edward had the brightest green eyes.
All day, they would explore the castle gardens, playing hide and seek as they went.
“Do you think we'll always be friends?” asked Prince Edward one day. His glowy green eyes were sad.
“Of course!” Princess Bella said. “Do you think we won't?” Her eyes went wide.
She couldn't imagine not being with her friends, even for one day.
Prince Edward shrugged. “It's just… I worry sometimes, you know?”
Princess Nala ruffled his hair and gave him a big hug. “No need to worry, Edward. You'll always have us. Right, Bella?”
Bella nodded, giggling.
“I've got an idea,” Princess Nala said, stroking her long golden hair. “I found an underground path beneath the castle. I think we can check it out. Who knows what we might find?”
Their eyes lit up. If there was one thing the trio couldn’t resist, it was an adventure.
“Oh goody!” said Prince Edward, hopping excitedly. Princess Bella was excited, too.
“Come on. Let's go.” Princess Nala said, and the two fell in line, walking behind her as they made their way out of her room and down the underground tunnels.
“Woah!” Prince Edward exclaimed as he looked around. “There's too many tunnels.”
Princess Bella jumped when Edward's voice echoed in a funny way. It sounded like a million people were talking. Princess Nala giggled. “Don’t be afraid, it's just echoes.”
They walked on, their eyes wide with wonder as they looked around. These tunnels were unlike any tunnels they'd ever seen. It sparkled with weird golden dust, and the lights were rainbow-colored.
Suddenly, Princess Bella got some of the golden dust in her nostrils. It tickled at first, and then…
“Atchu!” she sneezed and immediately began to sing the most beautiful notes. She tried to stop but found that no matter how hard she tried, the strange but beautiful song just flowed.
Her friends watched in awe as she went on and on, her mesmerizing voice filling all of the tunnels. The sound echoed, and the strangest thing happened. The whole place came alive with all kinds of creatures, big and small.
Just then, they heard a voice singing the same song Princess Nala sang! They all turned to find a carpet flying toward them. The carpet was singing! They huddled close, unsure of what to expect.
“Hullo, kids! My name is Collyward. Welcome to StrangerWorld, the most magical place. What can I do for you?”
They were too stunned to speak. Finally, Prince Edward found some courage and stuttered. “What is this place?”
The carpet laughed. It was flat as anything and sparkled with all the weird golden dust.
“Why, this is the place everyone hears about, but only a few find! Shall I show you around?”
They nodded, more curious than frightened.
“Hop on then!” Together, they climbed onto the carpet, and off the carpet went, flying through the tunnels.
“I have to warn you. This place might be magical, but it will test even the strongest of friendships. Are you sure you can handle that?”
The three friends looked at one another. Prince Edward looked nervous, but both Princess Bella and Nala were absolutely sure nothing could change what they shared.
“Nothing can break us apart,” Princess Nala said, and all three held hands.
First, the carpet took them to a tiny cave in the tunnel. “This is where Old Tally lives.”
Tally was a small fairy who was a thousand years old. She was now too weak to fly, but she loved to have visitors.
“Aren’t you all the most precious kids?” she exclaimed when she saw them enter. They hopped off the carpet and said hello to her.
“Welcome to StrangerWorld!” she said and got them comfortable on her soft cushions, made of the most exotic-looking flowers.
They sat at once, looking around.
“What a lovely place you’ve got,” Princess Bella said.
“Why, thank you! I’ve got some cookies and milk for you.”
Old Tally stood and disappeared for a few seconds. When she returned, she had a plate of fairy cookies and two glasses of fairy milk. The cookies smelled very delicious.
“Sorry, I had just two cookies left and only two glasses of milk.”
They thanked her and looked at one another. They all wanted to try a fairy cookie and fairy milk, but there were just two of each.
Prince Edward thought for a while, and then he had an idea.
“I know! We can all share each cookie and each glass of milk.”
And so they did, breaking apart each cookie into three equal parts and sharing each glass of milk. No one was left out. They were delighted with the delicious cookies and talked about it as they thanked Old Tally and hopped on the flying carpet once more.
This time, they had to go past the huge silver rocks.
“Brace up, kids!” Collyward said, and at once, they huddled closer, but while Collyward tried to maneuver his way through the rocks, an unfortunate thing happened.
Prince Edward slipped away, only hanging onto the carpet by the edge. “Argh! Help!”
“Oh no!” Princess Nala and Princess Bella cried. “What are we going to do?”
They were approaching the next set of huge silver rocks and had to get Edward back on the carpet fast.
Princess Bella had an idea.
“Nala! Your hair! Let it down so he can hang on, and then we’ll pull him up!”
“Good thinking!” Princess Nala said and began to let her hair down toward Edward.
“Grab my hair, Edward. Bella and I will pull you up, okay? Don’t be afraid.”
Edward grabbed Princess Nala’s long golden hair, and Bella and Nala began pulling. In no time, Edward was back on the carpet again! They exhaled in joy as he hugged them tightly.
“Thank you,” he said.
