“Hey, Kenzie.” I looked up to see David Blanco slide into the desk next to me.
I nodded. “Hey.” I went back to flipping through my Bible. Dr. Newbury was very nice, but his lessons were as dry as a stick. I had already been warned about Hebrews being a snooze fest, but no other Bible requirement was going to fit into my schedule this semester. However, as long as I came to class and did the extra commentary reading, I’d get an “A”.
“What a class to have at 7:40, huh?”
I lifted my large cup of mocha. “Already prepared.” I noticed he didn’t have any caffeine. I wasn’t about to offer to share. I wouldn’t want him to catch my girl cooties.
I regretted getting a better look at David. No guy had any business looking this good this early, let alone the guy who had bruised my heart three years ago. He had obviously just rolled out of bed to get here. Mussed dark hair, sleepy brown eyes that were framed by those girl-envy lashes, handsome face and athletic body—he had only gotten hotter since high school, even in holey jeans and a Henley.
