The story begins with the Mermaid Queen Alina and Merman King Caspian, they fall in love with each other, for which it is forbidden within the Mer council. In secret they marry and Alina became pregnant, going against the Mer council. They had to move away to a small island in the Coral sea in a hidden cave. Alina gave birth to a beautiful baby girl for which they named her Serina. As Serina started to grow up, Alina and Caspian explain to Serina that she can never leave the cave because it is to dangerous to venture out, the cave protects them all. One day Serina wanted to see what it was like outside of the cave, she went against her parents wishes and left the cave. Serina sees a dolphin coming towards her and the dolphin said "Hi my name is Pearl, I have been waiting for you" Serina responds in shock and says "hi, how do you know me?" Pearl said "I'm your guardian angel and I'm here to protect you" Pearl then ask's Serina "would you like me to show you around the reef?" Serina replies with excitment "YES!!" So off they went on there adventure together, swimming beside each other.
On there journey Serina meets other sea creatures, octopuses, whales and many others who all know Serina.
Upon arrival many sea creatures say "hi Serina it's lovely to see you" As Serina and Pearl continue to swim through the
reef, Serina sees a shipwreck and Serina says "come on Pearl lets go inside the ship and have a look" Pearl replies
in fear and says "it's too dangerous Serina, we need to leave now" Serina replies with attitude and said "no I want to go inside"
Pearl said "It's not safe I need to get you home now"
