In Jesus’ mighty name, let this be Your words, Lord, and not mine. Let every word that is spoken here be guided by Your truth and not my own. Amen.
God gave me a unique title for this message, and it’s a question we all need to ask ourselves: On whose word are you hanging? Who are you really listening to? Whose voice carries weight in your life? We could spend the next twenty minutes just talking about that question alone. In fact, I could close this book right now, and it would still be enough to challenge our hearts. But let’s go deeper.
Are you hanging on your own words? Are you leaning on the words of men? Are you holding on to the words of your family, your friends, or even worse—the words of the enemy? Come on now, I know somebody has been hanging on the devil’s words. When the devil whispers, You’ll never amount to anything, that’s often a sign that God has something powerful in store for you. Because let’s not forget—the devil is a liar!
Some of you might say, Well, the simple answer is that I’m hanging on God’s Word! But if that’s the case, let me challenge you: If you’re truly hanging on God’s Word, wouldn’t your life reflect His fruit? Wouldn’t your actions, your choices, your words, and your heart bear one hundred percent godly fruit? That’s something to think about.
Every time I preach, I do it with the understanding that this might be the last time someone hears me speak. I don’t preach to keep people comfortable; I preach the truth. Some of you might not like it, and that’s okay. Some of you might walk away upset, but then three weeks later, you’ll find yourself coming back, because truth has a way of drawing us back when we’re ready to hear it.
A Changing World
We don’t need a tutorial to understand how much the world has changed. Just take a look around. Everything is shifting—our culture, our values, even our clothing styles. Come on now, things that were once meant to be worn underneath are now being flaunted on top! If my grandmother were alive today, she’d be shaking her head, wondering what in the world has happened. But we shouldn’t be surprised. This isn’t just a random shift; it’s part of the enemy’s plan.
And let’s be real—the church has been too quiet about it. When it comes to issues like homosexuality, transgenderism, and the moral decline we’re witnessing, too many are afraid to speak up. Everyone wants to keep the peace, not offend anyone, and avoid controversy. But let me tell you something—if the Bible calls it sin, then it’s sin. We don’t have to sugarcoat it, repackage it, or make it more palatable for modern culture. God’s truth doesn’t change just because society does.
When the transgender movement began gaining momentum, suddenly, homosexuality seemed like a minor issue in comparison. That’s the enemy’s strategy—push the boundaries so far that yesterday’s battle looks insignificant next to today’s. And what really burdens me is seeing pastors compromise. I see ministers who once stood firm now officiating same-sex marriages, accepting what God clearly calls sin. And here’s the truth—God can deliver anyone. He can heal, set free, and transform lives. But if the church keeps bowing down and diluting the truth, we are setting ourselves up for a disaster like we’ve never seen before. That’s why our nation needs revival.
