INTRODUCTION TO THE TRAILBLAZER TALE

On a chilly autumn day, Grandpa Liam and his grandson Calvin gathered by the crackling!replace in their cabin.

Grandpa Liam shared an extraordinary tale of his cousins, Sid and Les Jigglewind, and the Plopps Family.

“Calvin, these folks were inventors, with some truly magical powers!”

“Seriously, Grandpa? Is this a real story you’re telling me or a made-up one?”

“It’s as real as the air we breathe. You see, anyone can be a Trailblazer. Just believe in yourself, and you’ll unlock the magic and miracles that life has in store for you.

Never stop dreaming big, my son! Keep shining bright!”

And so, the Trailblazers’ tale begins.

CHAPTER 1

THE MAGIC RAINWATER PIPE

Stranded in the Castle School in Giant Star City

The Plopps family was ready to conquer the day. Little did they know this day would kick off an epic journey involving the Jigglewind brothers and the entire family!

CANDICE DANCED IN THE KITCHEN, humming a radio tune while making breakfast.

She expertly flipped toasted bread onto plates, then grabbed sausage slices from the fridge and tossed them on the toast from a distance.

“Hey Mom, those aren’t Frisbees!” Justin teased, shaking his head in amusement.

Justin was thirteen and stood at 1.70 meters, almost the same height as Melody, his older sister by a year. But what set them apart was his sister’s deep blue eyes, a trait passed down from their dad, Tom.

“Mom, how do you do that?” Benny asked, his eyes wide with wonder. “I want to be able to do that too!”

Benny was a spirited 5-year-old boy who shared his mom’s passion for baking.

“You know that I have special abilities. Already forgotten?”

She winked, folded the bread, and placed tea and coffee on the table.

Quite unexpectedly, the phone rang loudly and shrilly, startling everybody. Melody jumped off the stool and dashed into the hallway, wondering who could be calling so early.

The phone was lying on the dresser, bouncing up and down. She picked it up and returned to the kitchen.

Melody took a deep breath. “Hello?”

Justin and her father Tom watched her intently, sensing something amiss.

Benny was unimpressed by the commotion and made a loud smacking sound with his lips.

“Benny, please stop smacking your lips so loudly,” his brother scolded him.

“I want eggs!” he whined.

Candice smiled and flipped the eggs in the pan.

“Who’s calling? Is it you, Sid?”

“Yes, it’s me, Melody! We're stuck in the Castle School in Giant Star City in the Multiverse! The return trip to Earth no longer works.”

“What?! Oh, no!”

“Is Les there too?”

"Yes! Something’s wrong here!”

Sid and Les, two students in Melody’s class, frequently stayed in the Castle School in Giant Star City beyond the permitted time limit set by their teachers. Both were engrossed in a secret project that Melody had never been privy to. Now, she found herself growing increasingly concerned.

“Melody, are you still there?”

“Yes, Sid! I’ve just activated my brain cells!”

You and Justin need to take a look at the rainwater pipe in the school yard. If it’s broken, we’re in big trouble!”

Her dad, Tom, looked worried. “Melody, what’s up? Turn on the speaker so we can hear what’s going on. There’s definitely something wrong!”

Melody clicked on the speaker.

“Justin and I will definitely check it out this morning, we promise! We’ll come and rescue you!”

“Thanks, but you should hurry up! I have to go now!”

“Hey Sid! Do your parents know you’re stuck somewhere? Is there any way we can reach you?” Tom asked.

“We gave them a call a few minutes back, so they don’t get too worried. I’ll give you another ring. Bye!”

“Dad, the Jigglewind brothers are stranded in the Castle School in Giant Star City!”

“It seems like we’ve got a bit of a situation here. I’ve never heard of Giant Star City. Do you know anything I don’t, Melody?”

“Yes, Dad! It’s in the Multiverse!”

“Are you kidding me?”

“It’s a school project,” Justin cackled.

“Ah, it seems you know what’s going on, Justin! Are you implying that you can simply vanish into a school project and never reappear, and where on earth is Giant Star City?” his father inquired, bewildered.

“Well, pack your belongings. I’ll drive you to school. Afterward, I’ll head to my office to investigate further. We’re leaving in five minutes.”

Meanwhile, Candice strapped the backpack onto Benny’s back. She was the calming presence in the family; nothing could easily upset her. Her distinctive feature was her lengthy, wavy brown hair.

Tom grabbed his snakeskin briefcase, a birthday gift from his boss. Though too luxurious for him, he used it daily for his boss’s sake.

“We’re going to be late,” he urged the kids.

“Justin, what’s wrong? You’re always last!”

“I’m coming!”

He grabbed his school bag and dashed down the stairs, leaving a trail of perfume behind him. Melody sighed, exasperated by the family’s constant wait for him. Justin was notorious for taking the longest time to get ready.

“Well, then! Let’s go.”

They left the house and drove straight to Benny’s kindergarten, where his teacher, Mrs. Smile, was already waiting for him at the entrance. After dropping off Melody and Justin at Springs High in the Silverglen district, Tom continued his journey to the office.

Meanwhile, Justin and Melody climbed the 100-step staircase into the school building that looked more like an ancient church.

“Melody, meet me behind the schoolyard after class. We need to inspect the rainwater pipe and devise a plan to evacuate Sid and Les from Giant Star City without revealing their project.

“I believe we should also visit someone. It’ll be a surprise.”

“Justin, I’m curious about your plans and the person you’re referring to. See you later,” she replied before they headed to their classrooms.

CHAPTER 2

THE NIX MIRACLE CURE

The shy Wallflower knows more

T heir father, Tom, was strictly prohibited from displaying any weaknesses within the company. The hierarchical structure was unforgiving.

As the inventor of the Nix Miracle Cure, which unexpectedly brought the company a substantial windfall, he had climbed the corporate ladder. As a reward for his hard work, he was granted an office with a breathtaking view of the distant mountains. Despite his success, he remained grounded and never forgot his humble beginnings and the rapid pace at which one could be fired.

“Hi, Tom. ‘How are you, my friend?’ his boss greeted with a friendly slap on the shoulder.

“Pretty good, Rod!”

“Now, what are the monthly sales forecasts, and what’s the plan next? We can’t afford to relax!”

“I’ll take care of it. I’ll have a result by tomorrow.”

“Very good! Remember, success doesn’t come overnight! Haha!”

His boss left the office, humming a tune.

Tom gazed at the majestic mountains, his mind filled with curiosity about Giant Star City in the Multiverse. Undeterred, he turned to his laptop and embarked on a relentless search of the Inter‐ net, yet he found no trace of this elusive place. Frustrated, he tossed his pen onto the desk. Despite having a few meetings that morning, he discreetly inquired with his colleagues if they had ever heard of Giant Star City in the Multiverse. Their bewildered expressions only added to his intrigue, leaving him more perplexed than ever.

“Aha! Giant Star City in the Multiverse! Are you kidding me?!” his colleague Bobby teased him. Tom could have smacked him, but he remained composed. Bobby was the personification of perfection in the company. Every strand of his hair was meticulously styled with hair gel, and his suits were the most expensive in Yellowwood Hills.

His desk was sparsely covered with paper, and he excelled in meetings with his concise and precise responses. Despite his accomplishments, he didn’t achieve much because he was cunning and regarded all his colleagues as rivals. Rodney quickly realized what type of character he was.

Suddenly, Tom recalled the shy wallflower Sandy at the front desk.

Sandy Moore, a talented and hardworking employee, was overlooked for a raise because of her old-fashioned appearance and quiet personality. Despite her best efforts, she never received the recognition she deserved.

He noticed something about her that intrigued him, and as he pondered about it, a sudden thought crossed his mind:

“She knows something!”

“Sandy!”

"Yes, Mr. Plopps."

“Have you ever heard of Giant Star City in the Multiverse?”

“That’s where I got my braces from!”

“What?!”

“Where is it? Pack your things, we’re going there immediately!”

“You can’t go there just like that, Mr. Plopps!”

“Why not? Do we need to take a plane?”

“No, Mr. Plopps. You have to have an intense desire to get there and by the way, it’s in the Universe!”

“Are you kidding me?”

“No, no! Sometimes it works when you want it very strongly, and sometimes it doesn’t. But there is also a shortcut.”

“What kind of shortcut? You speak in riddles, Sandy!”

Sandy lost her temper for a brief moment.

“Since when does anyone care in that office what I know?”

“Sandy, we have an urgent matter that requires your immediate attention. Your assistance is of utmost importance to me.”

She composed herself.

“Please refrain from asking me again until tomorrow. The trip to Giant Star City is only scheduled for Wednesdays or Thursdays, and unfortunately, today falls on a Tuesday, as you are aware.”

“Very well. We will discuss this matter tomorrow morning and then embark on our journey to this place immediately.”

“As you say, Mr. Plopps.”

Tom’s suspicions were confirmed.

“I knew it! Still waters run deep!”

Bewildered but somehow relieved, he resumed his work.

CHAPTER 3

SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL

There is no hopeless case

Springs High School was in the Silverglen suburb. The school went all out to find every student’s hidden talents, no matter how small. They didn’t give up on anyone, not even those who seemed like they had nothing special. The school’s mission was to discover talents in students until they found something unique or useful.

Mrs. Hope, their class teacher, kept saying that society needed to change.

“We must identify and nurture the unique talents of each individual, thus enabling students to live fulfilling lives and become trailblazers in their respective fields.”

“SHE ALWAYS REMINDED HER STUDENTS, ‘Just like the famous philosopher Aristotle said,

‘WHEN YOU DO what you love and have fun doing it, you’re a happy person!’”

MELODY WAS a keyboard wizard and a true artistic prodigy! Her brother Justin, with his extraordinary ability to read minds, was naturally taught by a teacher who shared this unique talent.

However, this didn’t necessarily create a harmonious relationship between them. Quite the contrary, their relationship was strained. Nicolas, Justin’s teacher, found himself preoccupied with thoughts of another teacher, Martha. This didn’t go unnoticed by Justin, and it left Nicolas feeling embarrassed and even angry when he was caught in his own thoughts. Consequently, both of them made a conscious effort to conceal their thoughts from one another.
