The creation of the coat of arms

More precisely, the etymology of naming this coat of arms comes directly from the name of the Livonian tribe living in Livonia - northeastern areas of what is now Latvia. After the conquest of Liwów and neighboring Kurów by the Order of the Sword Knights - during the so-called Northern Crusade 1206-1207, these peoples were forced to adopt the new faith and submit to the will of the invaders. Traces that we find in Polish geographical names, e.g. B. Liwiec , Liw - indicate the settlement of Liws in our country from the time of the great migration. The coat of arms itself previously appeared in Western Europe and probably came to Poland from Germany.
