The noble Polish family Abramik .

Die adlige polnische Familie Abramik.

Titel

Abramik , coat of arms Corwin ( Corvus , Corvinus , Corvin , Bujno ).

Coat of Arms Description.

Corwin ( Corvus , Corvinus , Corvin , Bujno ). In a red field a raven sitting on a horizontal, black tree trunk, which has two cut branches at the top and bottom, turned to the left with a golden ring in its beak, the diamond of which is pointing downwards; Helmet decoration: three ostrich feathers. But one also finds the goods deviations that the tree trunk is vertical, that the raven is turned to the right, that it also forms the helmet decoration instead of the ostrich feathers, or probably has no ring. About the origin, which is relocated to Italy, says the estate legend: As the Roman general Marcus Valerius Messalius , around 26 BC, was challenged by a Gaul to a duel. During the fight, a suddenly approaching raven sat on Messalius' helmet and alarmed the Gaul by flapping his wings and beak so that Messalius was able to kill him. After this event, Messalius received the nickname Corvinus , which became a family name for his descendants. A branch of the Corvinus became native to Wallachia.

In the red field, on a natural, cut trunk, arranged in a strip, with two knots at the top and two at the bottom, there is a blackraven facing left with a gold ring and a diamond downwards in its beak. There are three ostrich feathers in the jewel above the crowned helmet.

Heraldic book of Polish families. Th. 2, st. 150/151 in djvu format, zd. 076, in the e-library of the University of Warsaw -Juliusz hr. Ostrowski:

Corvinus I part Night Heron var. - In a red field - on a natural, cut trunk, lying crosswise with two knots from the top and two from the sides - a black raven facing left with a gold ring in its beak. Above the crowned helmet, three ostrich feathers. One of the older Polish coats of arms, but neither Długosz nor court records from the 15th century know it. This coat of arms, according to prof. Only in the first decades of the 16th century, Małecki separated from Ślepowron, and only from Paprocki, heraldry, treats these two coats of arms separately. Proof of the fact that in the 15th century families who used Korwin, such as the Kochanowski family, were still classified as Ślepowronów. The name Ślepowron referred to the emblem, and the exclamation, as it turns out from court records, was: Bojno or Bujno. Herb Korwin, as a later one, did not have a calling. Debt.; Papr .; Okol.; Kojał.; Nies.; Ulan.; Mał. " and to the right. Niesiecki mentions his hat himself. Nies .; Sieb. IV 14 12. " Corvinus III - In the red field - on a cut trunk with two knots on each side, lying across - a black raven with a gold ring in its beak. Above the helmet with a crown there is the same raven with a ring. The commonality of the jewel above the helmet shows the kinship of this variety with Count von m Ślepowron. Papr .; Not; Himself. IV14. 12. "

Heraldic legend :

And it was brought to Poland well before Jahr 1224: because in this Jahr at Wawrzęt, Korwin changed his coat of arms to Slepowron, which is known from the letter of Konrad Xiażec Mazowiecki at that time. And since this coat of arms is very similar to the coat of arms of Slepowron, for this some Korwin is called Slepowron, we are Slepowron Korwin.

“It was brought to Poland well before Jahr 1224, because in this Jahr at Wawrzęt, Korwin changed his coat of arms to Ślepowron, which is known from the letter of Konrad, the Duke of Mazovia at that time. And that the similarity of this coat of arms to the Ślepowron coat of arms is great, for this reason some Korwin is called Ślepowron, and Ślepowron Korwin. " in Niesiecki, Kasper (1682-1744) Polish crown ... Vol. 2, pp. 619 - 620[2]

The image of the Korwin coat of arms is on the tombstone of Łukasz Noskowski (Łukasz of Nosków) (died 1532 ) in St Mary's Church in Kraków .

The image of the Raven appeared on the city seal of the cityon March 171490 - a raven sitting on a silver branch is the emblem of the Corvinus family , who ruled in Głogów . In the 15th century, the coat of arms was given to the city.

Korwin II and Korwin III are graphic variants of the basic Korwin, there are no separate letters of arms for them.
