In 1058 Kazimierz the Restorer in pursuit of the devastating Lithuanians and Jadźwingami reached Sochaczew. A knight of the Lis family, sent with a handful of soldiers for reconnaissance, encountered a strong group of enemies at the river. Unable to attack, he fired a flaming arrow high above and called for reinforcements. Help soon arrived, and the fiery foes were easily defeated. The brave knight received an arrow in his coat of arms as a reward, and his ancient mark - a fox - was placed in the jewel.

Cieszkowski of the Dołęga coat of arms (vol. 3 pp. 123-133).
Cieszkowski of the Dołęga coat of arms. Neither Paprocki nor Okolski wrote about it: they are from Cieszków. Three brothers moved from Łęczyca voivodeship to Wołyń and Podlasie. Mikołaj, the treasurer of Nowogrodzki, of whom three sons remained. John in the order of St. Francis Ordin. Irrelevant. Observer. Luke 1694 in our order. They ended their lives piously, historians. Collegii Cracovien. and Wojciech Cześnik Trembowelski, to whom Lubieniecka bore three sons: Jan Mikołaj Czerniechowski, whose descendants were Wiktor and Antoni, Józef Cześnik Trembowelski, son of Maurycy, and Antoni, the treasurer of Nowogrodzki. Paweł, the brother of Mikołaj, begat Wiktor and Felicjan ordinis S. Pauli. Stanisław, their third brother, the royal captain, had seven sons after being released from captivity with Boguszewska. Of them Franciszek the country magistrate Czerniechowski: Before that Iwanicka from the arms of Pełnia bore these sons: Marcin Kleszczelowski, the starost of Kleszczelowski, the wife of Załęska, a chamberlain of Nowogrodzka, by the son of Konstanty. Daniel, the standard-bearer of Czerniechowski, (he was five times a member of various Sejms and three times a deputy of the crown court :) of this wife Katarzyna Kaszewska, a Lithuanian Podkoniuszanka, of her sons Józef [p. 124] in our order, Stanisław, Franciszek and Feliks, and daughter Konstancja with Prokop Nowicki. Stanisław, starost of Kleszczelowski, royal chief constable in the foreign army. Tobiasza the cupbearer of Czerniechowski, the standard bearer of the armoured banner: his wife Teresa Podhorodeńska, cześnikówna Mielnicka. Józef Stolnik Czerniechowski, who was deputy and second-in-command: his wife Joanna Załęska, chamberlain Czerniechowska, son of their Stanisław and daughter Franciszek. Stefan the cupbearer of Nowogrodzki, his wife Popławska. Jan Chancellor and Canon Łucki, parish priest of Uchański. Aleksander Felicjan, chamberlain of Czerniechowski, and before that ensign of Nowogrodzki and lieutenant of the armored flag, bravely standing by Khotyn, shot with a cannon, that he did not die of a strange divine cause, it was a work, it is eternal in the Crown Constitutions and a souvenir are written as compensation. Teodor stolnik Łęczycki died near Vienna. Adam was also his brother in Mohilow. Krzysztof, the seventh son of Stanisław, in 1693 first administrator and deputy of the crown court of Łęczyca. Then the Nowogrodzki chamberlain and also the castellan of Sochaczew had Mokrzycka behind him, from whom two sons: Stanisław, the starost of Kotelnicki, wife of his Gałęzowska writer from Lublin: and Wiktor of the land judge Liwski, and then the castellan of this land: from whom the son of Jan from Nowosielska was born. His sister was condemned together with the chamberlain of Oborski, Liwski. The second relation, the same Krzysztof, took Żabicka, whose son Ignacy, and two daughters, Franciszek to Brzeziński, Ensign Nurski. Brygitta to Wodziński ensign Liwski.
Niesiecki, as this description shows, the origins of this family were not known and lists them later, or this family was already known in the past. Duńczewski in T. II. Pp. 456. under the coat of arms of Dołęga he writes about the Cieszkowski family.
The Cieszkowskis of the Dołęga coat of arms are written in Cieszków, large and small, in the voivodeship Łęczyca, which for several hundred years in their homeland and until then inherited. Why did Paprocki violate this name in the nest of virtue, as did Okolski in Orbe Polono, his coat of arms; of which name and behind it. from the lives of these writers, acquaintances were already recorded in the evocation of noble states in titles. For if Paprocki ceased to live and write in 1614 (as Niesiecki testified in his crown), Jan Cieszkowski flourished in Volhynia about 1609 under that name, Włodzimierski's eldership, as appears from the records of the same town. Likewise, Okolski made a mistake when he later wrote his blazon p. 1641, during which they served on military expeditions, Stanisław, the treasurer of Nowogrodzki, Tobias in knightly condition, and others. The house of these ancestors, who wanted to know from earlier centuries, was read in detail in the records of the town and lands of Łęczyca; who, how kind they were [p. 125] to the public good and to the fatherland, is evidenced by the privilege of King Michael granted to Mikołaj Cieszkowski for the tenure of Trembowla in Trembowla: Significamus praesentibus literis nostris, Quorum Interest universis et singulis, ea esse Generosi Nicolai Cieszkowskiis viruai conferibus viruai vetqueis conferibus, progeniti, avitisque majorum suorum decoribus ornati merita, tam in functionibus publicis, quam in Expeditionibus bellicis, singulari fide animique fortitudine probata, ut jure merito a nobil ea, quae ad ornandque pra munant muner und servumemia Quare vacante ad praesens Pincernatu Trernbovlensi etc. Datt.
