A MORE PERFECT UNION BY DR. BEN CARSON, MD, WAS published on October 6, 2015, by Sentinel; an imprint of Penguin Publishing Group. Although the book has the features of a textbook, the content is easy to read and understand. Carson’s goal is to help all Americans learn and understand the Constitution. He writes in a way that encourages his readers to learn about the Constitution, not confuse them.
In the book, Carson not only discusses the meaning of each section of the Constitution; he also shares his opinion on the many issues that the Constitution addresses, including some very controversial issues such as the freedom of speech, freedom of religion, climate change, government spending, gun rights, the definition of marriage, government spending, and more.
Carson stresses that the United States is in a state of crisis. Carson talks about current events and the controversies of today that are threatening the United States Constitution and what the American people can do to “reclaim” it. He explores the federal government's “overreach” and how it is threatening the citizens of the United States. Carson talks specifically about recent presidents, congressmen, and judges, and their role in the breakdown of the democracy in the United States.
