The summer had now almost finished, a period of time which joined the parallel lines of their lives into one, inseparable and unified, but their hearts were always warm and fuzzy. They loved each other wholeheartedly, from the very first day. All of their summer days were full of tender love and their nights full of fiery love. Every morning, when he got up, he gave her a kiss on the cheek and he stood staring at her for a few seconds before leaving for the harbor. Yes, life was beautiful, and the reason for its beauty was right next to him.

Through books we come into contact with everything important that has happened in the past, analyzing also current events and putting our thoughts together to predict the future. The book is a window to the world, acquiring valuable knowledge and sparking our vivid imagination. It is a means of entertainment and is generally seen as a best friend, or as a slave that carries together all valuable information for us. The book is a friend who stays together without demands, a friend you call upon at every moment and abandon when you want.
It accompanies us in the hours of boredom and loneliness, while at the same time it entertains us. In general, a book does not ask anything from us, while it waits patiently on a dusty shelf to give us its information, to get us out of dead ends and to travel us to magical worlds.
This may be the travel mission of our books. Abstract narration, weird or unconscious thoughts difficult to be understood, but always genuine and full of life experiences, these are stories of life that can’t be overlooked easily.
This may be the start of something amazing!
After a few days of discrete enquiries Li was able to access a house in the right location. In was high on the side of the hill, which overlooked the Indonesian Air Force Headquarters. Li liked it because one of the bedrooms had an excellent view for setting up a large telephoto lens which had been specially brought in from Australia. The lens was a metre and a half long with the image appearing on a monitor, which allowed Stuart to blow up the picture or manipulate the picture with a click of a mouse.
Probo’s movements also appeared unchanged giving no indication he was deviating from his usual routine. It also became apparent that the committee only met on weekends with the best guess being a Sunday. Elya was tasked to spend her weekends in the office at the World Trade Centre watching for the first hint that Probo’s mobile phone was on the move.
Rere continued his surveillance and had confirmed what they had already knew. Probo was dealing with junior offices, which led back to the respective headquarters for each of the armed services. He also discovered it was impossible to find out which general or admiral was involved. They all worked on the assumption that these officers would be in direct contact with the generals, admirals or air marshals that were involved in the conspiracy. This narrowed the suspects down to twenty-two people, which included BAKIN though Stuart believed the newly promoted Lt General Rundi had to be involved. Fortunately for him his predecessor had chosen to back the wrong General during the May troubles of the previous year.
Several weeks had passed and Stuart knew the time was rapidly approaching when Probo would once again meet with these men and that the risky installation of the close surveillance camera had to be undertaken.
Privately Stuart was dreading the operation because of the dangers imposed. If Charles ever learnt what he was planning he would have had a mega heart attack followed by an order to report to Canberra for a severe arse kicking, if he was lucky. Stuart knew if it went sideways literally anything could happen. He might have to run and be cruising on a fishing boat heading south towards Christmas Island. The whole country could be after him worst still he could be shot dead in the street.
Now the time had come. He either did it or he didn’t and decided he should stop dragging his feet and organise a meeting at their new Pancoran safe house. Stuart arrived at 7.30pm and unlocking the front door and found Elya already there, quietly talking to Li while Heru was still washing the dishes. Stuart continued into the lounge room and waited for the other three. While he waited he could sense the tension in the air obviously everyone knew what was coming and was privately dreading the meeting.
Heru came over carrying four beers and placed them on the coffee table, with each of the team taking a bottle. ‘Here’s to a successful operation. May we all live long enough to enjoy it’ proclaimed Stuart.
Heru laughed while Li failed to see the funny side while Elya only smiled more from politeness than from the attempted humour.
After Stuart saw everyone was settled more or less he decided it was time to get down to business. ‘I have in my car all the equipment we will need. This is the plan. Kick-off is Friday, midnight.
Li you’re the transport. You’ll drive Heru down to that sharp bend on Triloka 8, drop him off then continue past the main gate then circle back through Panc Barat 11.
Heru once you are out of the car I want you to move across the park and get through the fence. Have you found an entry point?’
Heru nodded ‘I’ve found a section in the fence where the tie wire has rusted and snapped which will make it easy to lift and crawl under.’
‘Good! Once you’re through I want you to move into the trees and get as close to the door as you can then install the camera. Have you worked out the timing of their patrols?’ asked Stuart.
‘There are two guards I’ve been closely watching with the infrared on that new camera we’ve just installed. They come around about twice a night but they’re very adhoc with their timing and the path they take. You’ll have to keep a close watch because they’re a real wild card. We’re not going to get much of a warning if they decide to turn up’ proclaimed Heru.
‘Elya and I will be watching and I’ll be covering you with that CheyTac sniper rifle’ declared Stuart.
Li’s eyes widened ‘Stuart what are you doing? You can’t shoot Indonesian soldiers in Jakarta particularly in a military base, its madness!’
‘I’m only covering Heru. If they start shooting I’ll take them out, then we get out of here, fast!’
Elya started shaking her head with alarm. ‘Stuart are you mad? Everyone in Indonesia will be looking for us! We’ll never get out.’
Li cut in ‘does Charles know?’
Stuart shook his head.
Li reached over and grabbed Stuart’s hand. ‘Don’t do it! If this goes sideways the whole operation will be lost and if they find out we’re from ASIS. Well it could lead to anything. WAR maybe.’
