With a swing of her arm, Alex opened the door of her house and stepped out onto the flat, lime-green grass at her doorstep. The sun was already shining bright and square in the sky and the biome around her hummed with activity.
Alex could see the neighboring village off in the distance. The villagers were starting to come out of their houses. She could just see the tops of their heads as they began their up and down movements around their houses.
It was a comforting sight to Alex that they were near but not too near. She didn’t spend much time with the villagers except to trade now and again.
There was one villager who she secretly nicknamed Mr. Long Nose who had taken a particular liking to her. He dropped by most every day for a few minutes and wanted to trade for something.
Alex grew wheat and carrots on her farm in tidy, neat rows. Mr. Long Nose was particularly fond of her carrots and would trade most anything he had for them.
Alex had a number of fine paintings in her house that she had gotten from trade with the villager, along with a lovely collection of emeralds, redstone and even one fine diamond. It seemed like she was taking advantage of him sometimes, but he was so very happy with his carrots!
Around her rows of wheat and carrots, Alex had a nice sturdy fence made of birch wood. It was her favorite building material. Her house was also made of birch.
Inside, the house was quite pleasant. She had red roses and cactus in flower pots, an attractive purple carpet, and even an indoor swimming pool!
Alex looked at her property on this particular morning and sighed with satisfaction at all that she had collected and crafted.
Then Alex wondered what she should do with her day? Her crops were planted, so she had nothing more to do there. She had built everything she needed for her house already.
Alex began to pace. She looked over the hills in all directions to see if anyone might be coming. Perhaps Mr. Long Nose had something to trade today?
It was mid-afternoon and Alex was downright bored. She plodded up the path to her house, went in and sat at her cobblestone table looking forlorn.
