I was making a decent living working in production on one of the top rated television shows of the decade. Even as a gopher I was envied by my friends. I served coffee to David Mason, a damned fine looking, award winning actor who was also one of Hollywood’s biggest male whores. I had the job millions of women would kill for, no doubt. There was just one problem. I wanted to be in front of the camera, not behind it. Acting is a hard business to break into, but I thought I stood a better chance working on a studio set. The best part was that I’d made friends with the rest of the crew and some of the writers. I received privileged information through the grape vine, like when they were scouting for extras to add to a scene.
Being an extra with no lines and a millisecond of on screen time might not sound like a big deal, but it counted as an acting credit which could get you an agent. When I heard they were casting for a young, blonde woman to be an extra in an action scene I was determined to do whatever it took to get that puny little part. As luck would have it, David Mason demanded a latte be delivered to his trailer that morning.
