Early one summer morning, Satordi walked along a secluded beach to see the ultraviolet sunrise above his home planet, Simulacrum. Just as the sun rose above a mountain with Simulacrum's twin moons barely visible, the sun suddenly turned indigo. Satordi was now amidst clear skinned Neanderthals in a late Medieval city. One by one, city inhabitants succumbed to a horrible flu. As Satordi cringed, the sun turned blue while he entered a 5th century city of a human like race with clear skin. His brief relaxation ended when mushroom clouds appeared in the distance. Satordi instinctively closed his eyes and “hit the ground.” Everything was surprisingly silent. Upon opening his eyes, Satordi saw a wingless bat like race under a green sun run riot in a late 18th century city as food supplies and resources were depleted. When Satordi sought refuge, the sun turned red. A large crowd of a human like race with yellow skin, yellow eyes, and red hair completely ignored Satordi as extremely powerful hurricane force storms laid waste to a 16th century city. In an instant, the sun turned yellow. Satordi observed a race of Neanderthals fall ill to a blight of epic proportions in a 19th century city. Suddenly, the sun split in two, and Satordi stood on two worlds. Under his right foot was planet of humans in a Renaissance era metropolis. Under his left foot was a planet of six foot tall walking dolphins in an early 20th century coastal city. Satordi smiled as the inhabitants of each world went about their business. His smile turned to gloom when enormous, silvery blimps bombed the humans' windmills, river mills, and dams. Simultaneously, silvery B-2's bombed power plants and substations around the dolphin city. To make matters worse, Satordi could not flee as tall skeleton troops emerged from the blimps firing yellow tracer rounds from Gatling guns at the humans, and giant badgers exited the B-2's shooting harpoons from Gatling guns at the dolphins.
Satordi violently awoke as an alarm sounded.
“Oh no, my liaison at The Defense Department requests my presence for an intelligence briefing!” Satordi said as he reeled from an intense pain in his kidneys.
“An intelligence briefing at this hour!” Satordi's wife, Danele, exclaimed worriedly.
“We're going to an undisclosed location. I think the entire Orion Arm of the galaxy is about to be in a war! My cousins Edur, and Warin will probably be there too. I want you to contact Orion and Cassiopeia, because I think we're going to need them!”
“You read my mind! I'll have them in a few moments!”
Satordi kissed Danele as he prepared to leave.
Deep inside the Simulacrum Solar System's Asteroid Belt, a few government officials and senior military commanders assembled on a secret military base.
“I hope you two didn't have the same dream I had last night.” Satordi said as his cousins approached.
“This is disturbing. Directorate, Assembly, Premier Tribunal members, and military elites in the same room. This smells like a war plan.” Edur said.
“There are probably more government and military officials on other bases throughout the solar system. I suppose both of you saw people and animals fighting across the galaxy.” Warin said as Satordi and Edur nodded affirmatively.
“I saw the same species I met on that zoo ship 45 years ago. This time they're fighting different enemies.” Satordi said as Director Guillem gaveled the attendees to silence to begin the session.
“Ladies and gentlemen, our intelligence operatives have credible evidence the Deimosians and Mustelidae will soon launch invasions of Earth and Cetacea, respectively. The Simulacrum Government will not allow intergalactic invaders to establish bases in our galaxy. We will establish buffer zones on the lesser planets bordering Earth and Cetacea.” Guillem explained.
“Lesser planets! There are billions of people on those planets! We can't just take those planets for ourselves. A blockade would be more appropriate in this case. Warin stated.
“Arbiter, you don't understand the gravity of the situation. The Deimosians and Mustelidae will annihilate the humans and Cetaceans, then they will interfere with our affairs.” General Shala said.
“The Elysians would never allow them to establish bases on those planets!” Edur interjected.
“The Elysians will do nothing until after the Earth and Cetacea belong to the Deimosians and the Mustelidae! Their misguided Code of Non Interference prevents it!” Commodore Putur-Sin snapped.
“Wrong, Commodore! I saw one Elysian saboteur and his wife disable a Caudatan ship, so Chiropteran forces could destroy it! If we trample on those so called lesser races, the Elysians will come for us!” Satordi yelled.
“It will be too late by then, Director. The Elysians will be too busy with Earth and Cetacea to attack us.” General Brett Kingu said.”
“We should make an alliance with the Elysians to stop the invasions before they begin.” Satordi said.
“I concur! We haven't tangled with the Elysians for centuries, and we lost!” Edur said.
“Assemblyman, that was nearly 1000 thousand years ago, and we've improved quite a bit since then.” General Gobryas commented.
“Gentlemen, we've had decades to prepare for this day. You worry too much, and you put too much faith in your Elysian friends. These are extreme circumstances, so get on board!” Admiral Kishar said forcefully.
