Susanna and Nicholas take the boardwalk by storm in the sequel to the scandalous novella Susanna’s Affairs.
During their weekend vacation by the beach, the couple decides that a friendly competition might be in order, and they quickly set out to seduce and be seduced by as many people as possible with little regard to morality. Whether it’s the handsome man they meet at dinner or one of his two beautiful young daughters, no one is off limits.
But miscommunications, jealousies, and spite lead both of them down dangerous roads as they attempt to outdo one another. And while Nicholas seems to have no trouble enjoying himself, Susanna discovers that no matter how hard she pushes, her bliss somehow remains elusive.
What will she have to do to regain her self and her sexuality? How far will she have to push both herself and her marriage to finally claim her release?
In this steamy tale of love and lust on the beach, everything is on the table as the young couple push past all the rules on their path towards ultimate pleasure.

“This is not going to be a competition,” Susanna said.
“You’re just saying that because you think you’re going to win,” Nicholas said with a laugh. His wife wasn’t any more arrogant that she had a right to be, but her confidence in her abilities sometimes came out more strongly than she meant.
“I don’t at all,” she said, turning back to look out at the ocean over the bow of the ferry. They would dock soon, and their vacation would begin, although to be fair, ever since they left the city Susanna had started to relax. If only a little. “I just know that some things are easier for me, and besides, it’s been so long since either of us has gone out on our own that who knows what will happen?”
“Personally, I may just spend the week at the house looking out at the waves. I almost forgot what it was like to be warm.”
“I’ve heard that before,” Susanna said with a laugh. She knew Nicholas better than he sometimes did, and after a long cold winter, the thought of him not chasing after every cute thing on the boardwalk felt ridiculous. “But it doesn’t matter. Maybe neither of us will be inclined to do anything other than walk the beach, drink more punch, and make love in the hammock. There is a hammock, isn’t there?”
