Exonerated: The Failed Takedown of Donald Trump by the Swamp is Dan Bongino's 2019 book. It exposes information about how an arrangement made by some pretentious people to create an accusation that President Donald J. Trump had a secret agreement with Russia. Bongino claims that former FBI director, Special Counsel Robert Mueller's two-year investigation about the issue was not able to find out anything. It did not prove that Trump and his campaign colluded with the government of Russia to intervene with the result of the 2016 presidential election. Exonerated reveals who the mastermind of the plan to take down the United States’ President and their motives of doing so. It also contains a discussion about how the plan backfired. It forced investigators to hide their mistakes and desperately conceal their white lies to prove Trump's Russian collusion case that never existed since from the start. Bongino said that the result of the Mueller investigation divided the nation and tried to destabilize Donald Trump's presidency.
In the book, Bongino explains how the topmost Obama officials and the federal laws highest levels of enforcement work together. The intelligence officers and the diplomatic core planned with the officials to destroy Donald Trump's presidential candidacy. Up until now, they are still working to destroy Trump's presidency, with the media now conspiring. The book contains details of how a cynical plug-and-play template was used by the Deep State actors to build the Russiagate scandal. The information stated in the book tells everyone that the idea of the Russian collusion with Trump was clearly based on the paid political narrative in Glenn Simpson's piece. It has the discussion of the admission of Christopher Steele, former British Intelligence Officer, to the United States department about the Russian collusion. However, it was not about the allegations against Trump's collusion with Russians. It was about Steele's own confession with his Russian collusion that was made into a document that they called the "Steele dossier." Bongino insisted in the book that the material used against Trump was not the "Steele Dossier." It was the 2007 Wall Street Journal article written by former American journalist Glenn Simpson that sounds incredibly like the dossier. Simpson's Journal discussed the presidential campaign of John McCain, an American politician, who used to be a United States senator from 1987 to 2018. It tackled about how McCain was also alleged to the same Russian collusion rumors. Bongino explained that at the time McCain was accused, it was then-President George W. Bush, who was serving at the White House. Bush didn't allow the intelligence community to spy on McCain; therefore, it wasn't pushed through. It was just implemented when Barack Obama became president and let the democrats control things. Later on, instead of leaking absurd stories to the press, the intelligence community used the document as a weapon and controlled the FISA court system as an attempt to attack Trump and take him down. Bongino said that the opposition had that plan ready to go against Trump the moment Paul Manafort, a Republican Party campaign consultant, gets into position.
