Jeremiah (c. 650 - c. 570 BC), also called the "weeping prophet", was one of the major prophets of the Hebrew Bible. Christianity holds him to be a prophet and his words are quoted in the New Testament. Islam also regards Jeremiah as a prophet and his narrative is recounted in Islamic tradition.
