About the Author
Ben Robson was born on June 14th, 1996. In his early years he was diagnosed with autism, but in his later years he has shown a real determination that would not allow this to hold him back.
After years of Lovaas therapy Ben was able to attend mainstream school and then college. In Sep 2018 he will begin studies at Art College in Nottingham. At eight years old Ben’s parents separated, this brought massive change to his life which, uncharacteristic of people with autism, was dealt with very well. In November 2017 tragically Ben’s mother passed away, this was obviously devastating for him and brought yet more changes to his life. Again, Ben coped well and continued to strive towards independence.
Ben now lives in his own home with his step Father Karsten, and on occasion spends time living alone for weeks at a time without assistance.
As a child Ben had an abject fear of animals. Eventually his mother introduced him to cats, his fear started to wane, and cats were brought into the home. His father rescued a German Shepherd (GSD) crossed with a Rottweiler called Roxy, she and Ben became close friends. Ben enjoyed the company of numerous cats at his Mother’s home, and while visiting his Father it was not uncommon to find him walking in the woods surrounded by six GSDs. Ben had conquered his fear.
His Father published a book about Rescue GSDs which Ben illustrated, this inspired him to write his own book about his cats. To the reader this book is a fiction, but to Ben it is symbolic of his drive and determination to overcome obstacles, and his unwillingness to accept limitations placed upon him.

Chapter One
Long ago, somewhere on a magical planet in the Realm of Cats, there lived a mother named Scrumpy. She had four kittens who were three weeks old. She named the two ginger ones, Ollie and Luther, a tabby one, Dory and a cream coloured cat called Moet. She lived with her husband king named Todin on their home world called Alvadaar.
One day, the cat family were in the garden of their castle. Scrumpy: ‘My my, my little babies! Luther, Dory, Moet and, wait, where is Ollie?’ Ollie popped up, hiding from behind a bush to surprise his parents. Scrumpy: ‘Oh, there you are my little Ollie’. Todin: ‘Would you look at this, our four kittens all playing nicely together. Scrumpy laughed happily. She and Todin were so proud of them. Todin and Scrumpy knew that the kittens would rule Alvadaar one day when they grew up.
Later that day, an evil cat named Zlidkar – the dark lord, came to make mischief in Alvadaar. He and Todin met and had an argument. Todin: ‘Scrumpy, get the kittens away from the dark lord!’ Scrumpy: ‘Okay, I will’ Scrumpy went to hide the children while Todin said to Zlidkar: ‘Zlidkar! How dare you return to Alvadaar!’ Zlidkar: ‘But wait (he laughed and gave an evil chuckle)? I thought I was your advisor, wasn’t I?’ Todin: ‘My Advisor? you’re nothing but an arrogant traitor!’ Zlidkar: ‘I would rather you did not call me that, and this is your last chance: Let me take over your throne, or I will curse everyone and all of Alvadaar!’ Scrumpy: ‘Todin, what is he talking about?’ Todin didn’t believe that Zlidkar had such power which made Zlidkar very angry. In his rage he thought to curse every cat into frozen jade crystals by using his powerful dark magic and with the help of his two griffin henchmen, Bert and JJ, who were in their laser-ship hovering above Alvadaar. He commanded Bert and JJ to laser beam the entire island realm transforming all the inhabitants into frozen crystals. Alvadaar was in trouble. Scrumpy thought she should send the children away to a different realm to keep them safe from the dark Lord Zlidkar.
