Marooned on The Planet X

BookRix GmbH & Co. KG81371 Munich

Chapter One

He awoke slowly. He opened his eyes and He ran a systems check. He could see the space ship's instrument panel was slightly damage. He blacked out. When, The space ship spiraled out of control and The auto pilot clicked in. It steered the orange painted space ship to safety. His name was Benno Blaise and He was a Spanish-Italian Astronaut. The chief space flight pilot of The United Earth Federation hypersonic nuclear cold fusion propulsion powered space transport ship Hermes of the year 2497 A.D in the 25th century.  Where was he? What, Planet did he crash land on?

Chapter Two

Astronaut Benno Blaise unstrapped himself. There were some minor electrical fires. That, He put out with the onboard fire control system. He checked the rest of the ship and He took inventory of all the supplies. He was surprise of the minor damage to the Hermes. The Hermes had oxygen for a month. He was going to have to go outside to check the outside hull of The Hermes. He looked for the repair kits. He gave The Hermes a closer inspection. He checked everything outside and inside of the whole space ship. He went over the onboard systems check list. He was surprised. That, The Hermes withstood the force of the impact and It survived the emergency crash landing on the unknown planet. He decided to name it, Planet X. The Hermes was in a shallow crater with some mountainous cliffs over hanging and surrounding it. The crater and surrounding environment shielded The Hermes from sight. Some what. Which was good and bad. It would be hard for a rescue team to find The Hermes and It protected The Hermes from possible hostile alien life forms.. It was a Catch 22. There were some skid marks on the undercarriage, sides and some of the white paint was scrapped off The Hermes. There was no holes or stress fractures on The Hermes. The propulsion engines nozzles were some what damaged. The landing skids didn't deploy and The Hermes was forced to belly land on the Plantet X's smooth sandy surface. This part of Planet X was. He didn't know. What, The general terrain of Planet X's landscape was. Was it smooth, mountainous, hilly, full of craters, swamp or all of the above?

Chapter Three

Chief pilot Benno Blaise was back inside the cockpit of The Hermes. It took three hours to inspect and repair The Hermes. The life support systems were working and Benno Blaise ate some of his space food paste from a plastic tube. Then, He slept for eight hours. He woke up renewed and refreshed. He felt better. He studied all the options to survive on Planet X, to escaped or to be rescued. None of the options looked flavorable for Astronaut Blaise of The United Earth ship Hermes. The Earth was the same as in the 21st century as far as the positions of countries go. The only difference was the whole world was aligned to explore space and They formed The United Earth federation, technology advanced, humans lived longer and space exploration was booming in the 25th century.

Chapter Four

He set up a makeshift base camp with prefab shelter and force field plasma energy barrier. It was like barb wire of the 25th century. The prefab shelter resemble an oversize igloo with three main rooms for storage, living and communications. It had a garage connected to the igloo with a space vehicle inside it. It was shielded from the conditions on Planet X. The yellow painted atomic energy powered space vehicle was an all terrain tracked eight wheels drive space utility vehicle nicknamed The Tank. It was called The Tank. Because, It was a huge tough fast agile beast of a vehicle and It could transverse any terrain on any planet. It could go from eight wheels drive mode to tracked vehicle mode by a flip of a switch. It was made to operate in harsh space environments and zero gravity. It was manufactured and molded with a composite metal. The prefab space igloo was made of a special made reinforced material. It was stronger than any metal and It was lighter than any plastic. It could withstand minor meteorite showers or any weather conditions on any planet. The plasma force field barrier could keep out any alien life forms friendly or hostile. He planted seismic sensors and A weather station. He set up a greenhouse to grow hydroponic fruits and vegetables, as well as GMO (genetically engineered organic food) with The GMO lab. It reminded Benno of homesteading. He hummed home on the range. It took several hours to days to deploy everything. Astronaut Blaise's training didn't prepare him for actual survival on any planet. Especially on Planet X.

Chapter Five

Benno took a siesta. So, He could adjust to his living conditions. They were crude living conditions. But managable at least he was still alive. He had it all powered by The Hermes nuclear fusion reactor. That, He connected to the space igloo from connection pipes on the outside of The Hermes near the cold nuclear fusion engines. He was relaxing watching real 3D videovision. It was a machine. That had fifty preloaded movies and videovision shows. One could watch the preloaded movies and satellite direct real 3D shows on a 3D monitor. Benno was enjoying watching some of the movies. He started to get homesick for The Earth. He ate a tube paste food meal of roast beef, sweet mashed potatos and He washed it all down with a gulp of purified water. He longed for a sip of a cold one of a mexican beer.

Chapter Six

He woke up to the flickering light and The sound of a movie from the videovision monitor machine. He ate some tube paste flavored breakfast of eggs, sausage and buttermilk pancakes. He took a vac water pumped shower with real hot and cold water. He put on his space suit and He venture out the airlock door of the igloo. He inspected the weather station and He checked the weather condition of today. Everything looked good for a stroll. He decided to take The Tank for a drive around Planet X to explore the various sites.

Chapter Seven

Astronaut Benno Blaise was driving the space rover. It was a smooth ride. He decided to take a short trip to get a basic lay of the land around his base camp. The terrain was smooth red clay and It was hilly, also. The Tank   transversed The Terrain of Planet X with ease. It was tracked and wheeled. It could switch between the two depending on the terrain. It faced. It had a multi-fuel tank and It could run on any available fuel source. Benno measured the length of days and nights of Planet X. It was a lush and barren planet. It was the epitome of all planets.

Chapter Eight

It was getting dark. So, Astronaut Benno Blaise pulled over The Tank and He prepared to sleep in the sleeper compartment of The Tank. He was safe inside The Tank with it's protective system module. If anything got close. They would be zapped with an energy field. The energy field could be adjusted for stun or kill. During sleep, Benno had a nightmare dream. It was a bizarre dream. Was the planet alive? If so. It would be the first planet. That was alive. It could think, It could talk and It could feel. It was sending Benno messages in his brain. While, He was alseep. What was it trying to say? Warn him of impending doom or trying to help him survive? Was a race of aliens communicating with him? He awoke in a cold sweat with rapid breathing. It took awhile. Before, He fully woke up and His heart stop beating fast.

Chapter Nine

The earth started to shake. Was it an earthquake tremor or was it somethingelse? It was time to move on. Benno steered The Tank to the source of the earthquake tremor. Benno was operating and driving The Tank. He could see through the dome shaped cockpit of The Tank. The outline of a Martian Marauder saucer space ship. He steered near. When, The earthquake tremors ceased. He hid The Tank. The Martian saucer had landed. It's powerful plasma engines made the earthquake like tremors. The door opened of The Martian ship and It retracted revealing a metal like ladder. It was more like a retractable ramp. Twenty Martian Marauders armed walked down the ramp on to Planet X's soil. They didn't look like small little grey or green aliens with oversize heads. They look like normal size humanoids with oversize heads with green glowing tinted skin. They patrolled the perimeter. They looked around. Once satisfied, They signaled and Some more Martian Marauders started to go down the ramp. Benno observed. That, They were resupplying and repairing their ship, maybe. They were wearing space suits. That gave the appearance of green glowing tinted skin. Their space suits were mainly green on the arms, legs with gray gloves and gray boots. It was tempting for Benno to try to hijack their ride. But, It would be suicide. But, Where there's a way. There is also a way. Nothings impossible.

Chapter Ten

Just when, Benno was in position to draw his atomized laser pistol. There was a signal by the mother ship and The Martian Marauders advanced back into their flying saucer ship with them spiriting away resources. That, They collected from Planet X. The ship made a thunderous noise and It shook the ground again. Before, It liftoff and zoomed off with lighting agile speed into dark deep space and out of the atmosphere of Planet X. Planet X wasn't an uncharted planet, after all. It was a well know spot for most space travellers. Maybe, It was a haven for the undesirables of the cosmos. If so, Benno was going to have to reinforce his base camp. It was time to activate his four cybernetic android crewmen.

Chapter Eleven

Planet X must be plentiful in resources. A pitstop for every race in the universe. It must be centrally located in the universe. But, What star or solar system is it in? Benno was going have to take soil and environment samples. He was going to have to prospect for precious metals and rocks. There may or may not be a goldmine in Planet X. The bad thing, He was shipwrecked and maroon on Planet X. The good news it might be profitable and He wasn't alone. Sooner of later, He was going to get a ride out of Planet X by someone or something. So help him God.

Chapter Twelve

He did and He didn't. Benno loved civilization but He was beginning to get use to the solidary life. Planet X wasn't an uncharted planet. He was back at his digs on Planet X. He decided not to think about it and He decided to leave it to fate. He lives. He lives. He dies. He's dead. He's rescue. He's not. So be it. It was starting to feel great being alone and all he needed was a woman to make it perfect paradise on Planet X.

Chapter Thirteen

Astronaut Benno Blaise woke up with the videovision machine on full blast. He turned it off and He recollected his thoughts of the daily chores at hand for today. First thing, He was going to activate the four cybernetic crewmen. The Hermes was a deep space vessel. That is why, He was given a cybernetic android crew. They would last longer, perform tasks without prolong sleep and didn't need alot of maintance. They were unisex and They had the good quailties of both man and woman without the flaws or the problems. They could be job specific, combat mission ready and jack of all trades to running The Hermes. They could do it all on every planet and in any environment. They were contained in four cryrogenic pyrex glass tubes next to the cybernetic android repair station on The Hermes. Benno flipped the switch and The cryro-tubes started to light up. A overhead light lit up the cybernetic android crewman. So, Benno could see. That, They were being activated successfully. Benno programmed two with the combat software and The One other to be programmed to be a copilot. The last one was programmed to transverse and survive hostile environments with the all purpose program. It would ride shotgun with Benno on The Tank. Their bodies were modified for their specific mission or job with different kinds of body chassis and cybernetic limbs. There was plenty of hardware, software and wetware to program the brain implanted control center for various tasks for them to perform. He could change their mission parameter by wireless remote control. He could use The Monster Maker Factory to make up to eight more prefab cybernetic android crewmen. They were more versatile and highly advanced in the 25th century than in the 21st century.

Chapter Fourteen

Astronaut Benno Blaise decided to go out on another exploration trip, again. He first attended to the greenhouse, weather station and GMO lab to get more plastic tubes full of food paste meals. The copilot cybernetic was given the task to turn the greenhouse crop into food paste meals. It should be done time Benno gets back from his next expedition. The two combat cybernetics would provide security for the base camp and The Hermes.

Chapter Fifteen

The Tank was made ready for another tour or trip around Planet X. Benno retrofitted The Tank for a more hostile environment on Planet X. He took one of his android crewman with him. The other three android crewmen stayed behind to watch and protect the base camp to run it as well. Until, Benno got back. He could communicate with them on any part of Planet X. They were beyond simple AI functions. They were almost human. They could do the task better or just as good as any human. They had more chances to survive than most humans. They could problem solve and react to The X-factor in any situation. Benno would up to a certain point put his life in their hands. Astronaut Benno Blaise drove The Tank off into the darkness of Planet X, again.

Chapter Sixteen

Benno decided to venture out further than He did last time. He carried more provisions and equipment. He programmed the android crewman for an all purpose mission role. Benno ended up in an oasis on Planet X. There was a natural spring pool full of water and There was sandy beach with alien multi-color plants. Benno got out of The Tank. He inspected the water in the natural spring pool. It was clear and He took samples of the alien plants. He already had soil samples. He was seeing if Planet X was habitable for human comsumption. If, He could survive on resources from Planet X. If, His own resources were some how depleted. He checked the oxygen levels. If, There was water. There was a good chance. There was breathable air on Planet X. The air was just a little thin. They must be at a higher elevation for the air to be that thin. Still, Benno tried to breath the air it was breathable. It was a relieve to breath some fresh air. After, He been exposed to bottle air for so long. Nothing like real air. He shouted and He leaped for joy. He undress down to his undergarment and He dived into the natural spring water. He took a nice little swim. While, His android crewman watched him. The water of Planet X wasn't to cool or to warm. It was like the water adjusted to one's body temperature.

Chapter Seventeen

Benno slept in the sleeper cabin of The Tank. He awoke to the dawn of morning daylight. He ate a quick tube meal of waffles and pork sausage. He drank some freeze dried orange juice. He added water from the lake to the orange juice to make it a drinkable liquid. He was starting to get use to living on Planet X. Benno two days later, He drove The Tank and He stumbled on to a space craft wreckage. Benno scrapped the front side of the space craft from sand and dirt. So, He could read the name of the space craft. He saw the name Orion on the space craft. He went inside the space craft alongside his android crewman to explore it, to inspect it for survivors and to cannibalized it for spare parts. Talk about skeleton crew. There were skeletons of the crew. They all perished before and after their space craft crashed landed on Planet X. There must of been a fire amd It damaged the life support system. Which killed some of the crew members. Some crewman died on impact of the ship. Benno took some of the undamaged items on The Orion. That, He could find. The equipment that were slightly damaged. Which were repairable. He salvaged from The Orion. The Orion must of been a combat craft. Maybe, A troop ship because He found body armor, ready-to-eat food tubes, a broken hand held radio, maps, detection tracking devices, booby mine traps, plasma and projectile assault portable weapons systems with extra projectile ammo clips and plasma energy cells. He checked everything. Before, Benno scuttled The Orion giving it an ancient Viking pyre burial fit for any Viking warriors.

Chapter Eighteen

Astronaut Benno Blaise headed straight up a dune with The Tank. He wanted to get away from the ashes of The Orion. No man really was an island. No matter how seculed one was trouble would always come their way even on a isolated planet like Planet X. He didn't want to be part of anyone's war or fight on anyone's side in a battle. As vast as, The universe was there was still conflicts in space over petty things. It was the final frontier and It was the wild wild space full of lawlessness. It had yet been tamed or conquered yet. Even in The 25th century. It was getting dark. Benno was starting to tell. What time when day was and What time when night was. He decided to set up camp near a wooded area. So, He be in a hidden position. The Tank had electronic camouflage. It would be safe for Benno to take a rest for the night on Planet X.

Chapter Nineteen

Astronaut Benno Blaise awoke to a vey very hot day. It was blazing hot in the forest woods on Planet X. The plants and trees were wilting into the soil. Some how, mother nature on Planet X learned to shield them from the blazing heat by having them wilting into the ground for protection only to be reborn a new living plant or tree unscorched. Benno was amazed about how life was regenerated on Planet X. He mapped out the location compared to his base camp as an indicator and He used waypoints. He could chart out Planet X and He could make a virtual map to guide his way around Planet X on The Tank. His next destination unknown. He radioed base camp and He checked in. He decided to appoint one of the cybernetic crewman into an operator of The Monster maker factory and to mold eight more prefab cybernetic crewman for added security and peace of mind. They could more quickly produce the tube food, rapidly grow the GMO food and store it. They could try to repair most of The Hermes. Before, Benno got back and They would have his house in order. Just in case, He could rescue himself off Planet X.
