There's Something About Steve

I grabbed a fistful of caramel popcorn as the horror movie continued screening on my laptop. My newest assignment screamed for me from the glass table as it laid next to my laptop. I could almost hear it screaming, "read me... do meee!" like the deranged murderer in the new television series. The entire premise of the show was so cliché it was hard to watch. It was even harder not to watch it, though.

I had always had a love for horrible movies and shows. Some things are just so incredibly bad, they're good. The crunchy popcorn left a sweet aftertaste in my mouth and made me wonder if I should be getting something else to eat for dinner instead.

When the movie got to a particularly gruesome part, I picked up the documents and started reading what my next assignment would take me. A few loose pieces of paper fell out and I put the popcorn aside to pick up the paper from the carpet floor.

Flight tickets! That was interesting. I let the movie run in the background as I read the details for the tickets. I was to catch the early morning flight to some deserted island or another to the get some samples from the surrounding banks for research.

This particular assignment looked interesting. I was going to be working hand in hand with the CEO of the company, Steve White. Steve was one of the three men in charge of the Great White Hunter Corporation.

I licked my lips as I thought back to the three CEO's of the company. Steve White, Kevin Great, and Thomas Hunter. They started the business when they were all in their earlier twenties and it had developed into a multibillion dollar corporation that was pretty much capable of sustaining itself at this point.

White was the only one of the three who shows up for the meetings for my small research group. He was incredibly yummy looking, his tanned skin and dark, dark eyes pulling me in. He had a grin that was to kill for, what with his is row of perfect white teeth. They do look a bit sharp, though I wasn't one to judge on too-sharp teeth.

Most of my colleagues thought he was overbearing, dominating, and frankly, a bit scary. He had an air around him that commanded attention, that much was true.

I didn't think of him as scary even though sometimes he did things that are a little peculiar... like the time I found him having fresh fish on his desk, so fresh that I swear it was still moving. He said he was going to get a chef to come up and prepare sushi for him. I pushed the thought out of my mind. Rich people were known to be incredibly eccentric.

I continued reading the papers in my hand that reminded me that it wasn't just a vacation. There were things to do and samples to collect. It was weird that Steve was going to be joining me, but I bet it would be an interesting trip.
