He was in no way homosexual or even a devoted soldier, but he mastered all those obstacles with nonchalance and a sense of humour, which was quite unusual during such troubled times of war: Spartan was an erotic philosopher and must have been one of the best physicians of the period!

A short Introduction

1 - A SHORT INTRODUCTION

During a delicious dinner at my best friend Jefferson's place we came to talk about ancient Greece, and about the uninhibited nudity those people had enjoyed. It was a strange time, when homosexuality was called love, and when the word love was only used for the relationships between men - to impregnate a wife was simply an act of procreation, mostly performed without any sentiment of the heart! Jefferson liked my erotic historical stories very much, and he left the table to fetch me a book from his extensive library. The small volume was written in ancient Greek and carried the simple title: Love and War. The author was a man named Spartan, who had lived from 435 - 385 BC in the city of Sparta on the peninsula of the Peloponnes. He was born right into the throws of the Peloponnesian War, which was fought between the Spartans and Atheneans for twenty-seven years, and which ended with a peace treaty in 404 BC.

The Spartans maintained a solid army of foot soldiers to attack and defend on dry land whilst their city was hardly fortified by walls and turrets. The Athenians on the other side possessed a splendid and swift naval fleet and had their passageway to the far harbour of Piraeus all securely walled in for safe access. They were most unlikely but bitter enemies, and both sides were determined to never give in! But it was not really a battle of wills or of power, it was more like a battle between two different philosophies that clashed on the shores and fields and killed thousands of their bravest men! The women of ancient Sparta were recorded as the most courageous and most independent ladies of the known world, and it was their voice which kept their heavily armed husbands up to a healthy balance between their brutal warfare and their more gentle time at home with the family - and those females weren't to shy to strike, to achieve their need by denying intercourse and food to their over-excited husbands - and they had won!

I read the exciting story in a few long hours in front of the fireplace in my rocking chair, and I was thrilled - not only by the simplicity of Spartan's words, but also by the lightness and happiness of his character in a world dominated by anal intercourse and the constant threat of war! He was in no way homosexual or even a devoted soldier, but he mastered all those obstacles with nonchalance and a sense of humour, which was quite unusual during such troubled times: Spartan was an erotic philosopher and must have been one of the best physicians of the period! And even if he happens to end up as one of the biggest hero of the war, he describes his efforts and successes with a humbleness, which would put most of the exaggerating self-righteous writers of recent world history to shame! I was buried deep in thoughts for a long while whilst the fire died in the chimney, about the interesting and strange interaction between love and war, then I moved over to my writing desk and started to translate:

A happy Childhood

2 - A HAPPY CHILDHOOD

I was born at the end of the golden age of Greece, and I was born under a lucky star: I was the second son of King Archidamos the Second of Sparta, the capitol on the fertile peninsula of Peloponnesia: I was a prince! Like all the rich kids in our time I grew up in the luxurious quarters of my mother Philippa, a beautiful gift from the King of Sicily to keep up the good trade and to secure the peace between both states! My older brother Heraclis was a bully and I quickly learned to run fast, my younger brother Midias was a sweetheart and he adored me dearly! The two sisters Serena and Selina were both spoiled bitches, and the moral Philippa had to spank them often! This was pretty embarrassing for the girls, showing off their red bottoms to the boys, because most of the time we were playing stark naked in the shady olive gardens and on the vast terraces of the palace, looking out through the wide valley at the dark-blue colour of the Sea of Crete.
